Why are people being fooled by this footage, thinking Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy as an entire project is being capped at 30FPS? It's actually being produced at 4K 60FPS. Even 'The Comeback Trailer' itself is at 4K 60FPS if you check on my channel and on the PlayStation channel. It was not "half-arsed/half-assed" in any way. The only reason why people over here are saying it's running at 30FPS is because of the footage obtained for this video was either captured or rendered at 30FPS. You even see smooth 1080p 60FPS captures of gameplay footage around on YouTube as well for fucks sake! Look around you, it's common sense.

Like others, I wish they had aimed for 60 fps. Even if it was the Pro only. Platforming like this really really benefits from 60 fps. It makes the platforming sections more fluid. And I feel that kind of fluidity also goes well with the CGI style.

That said, the graphics looks damn good. Like way better then we had any right to expect it. It looks almost as good as Ratchet remake, and that looked like a Pixar movie. So to see them go all out in the visuals, while also being so faithful to the original - is damn impressive. It's for that reason, I'm able to swallow this, and accept 30 fps.

Those saying its a ps1 game running 30fps, are missing the point. It's not a port. They pretty much remade the game from the ground up. So it's basically a modern ps4 title. Just because it's based on a ps1 game, doesn't make this iteration a ps1 title.

Still, I would have preferred them dialing back some of the graphics if it meant hitting 60 fps. I'm sure there was a balance. But damned if you do damned if you don't. Some would have then complained and said they wish it had better visuals.

Personally, I dislike the new style they're going for. A lot of the colors are changed for the worse. The lighting is gorgeous and the shader effects are really nice but they overdo it on Crash especially. His model also lacks the simple charm he had in the PS1 games. The original game was simple and it was colorful. They slightly changed the color palette here and in my humble opinion, it looks generic. None of the iconic places really have the same feel anymore. I'm happy this exists but I just wish it kept the charm the original had.

I expect more from Vicarious Visions who made Crash Nitro Kart run at 1280x720 60FPS with enhanced visuals on the Xbox
