Milwaukee added an expandable tool to their outdoor power tool lineup. This new modular tool head system, dubbed Quik-Lok will offer more options to come in the future!

The new Milwaukee Quik-Lok multi-head power tool system is part of the M18 Fuel cordless battery platform. Like other systems on the market the power head, powered by an M18 Fuel brushless motor, allows for interchangeable tool attachments to be swapped for different tasks. This allows users to purchase attachments based on the needs of the user and can decrease the investment in multiple tools. But is this system right for you?

Currently, the Milwaukee Quick-Lok system has 4 separate tools and an extension.

String Trimmer
--14″ to 16″ cutting swath
--.080/0.095″ line diameter
--Available as a bare tool (2825-20ST) for $229
--Available as an attachment (49-16-2717) for $109

Pole Saw
--10″ bar length
-- 3/8" Chain
--Available as a kit (2825-21PS) for $399

Edger
--8″ blade size
--38″ length
--Available as an attachment (49-16-2718) for $109

Hedge Trimmer
--20″ blade length
--1″ cut capacity
--60″ length
--13 operating positions

3′ Attachment Extension (49-16-2721) for $54

The extension is included if you buy the pole saw if you buy it as a kit, but is also available separately for use with the hedge trimmer and pole saw attachment.

The kits come with the Milwaukee M18 Fuel Quik-Lok power head, the specified attachment (string trimmer or pole saw with extension), a multi-voltage rapid charger, and (1) HD 9.0Ah battery.

You can purchase a quick detach shoulder strap (49-16-2722) for $20.
Replacement 10″ pole saw chain (49-16-2723) are available for $18.

I have the string trimmer, pole saw, and just ordered the hedge trimmer. I don't even have hedges ...lol....but my daughter does. The pole saw is amazing and I use the string trimmer weekly during grass season.I would never go back to gas. The cordless is much easier to start !

I just bought this trimmer edger system and my only dislike was the string head. I took it off and put on a weed thrasher head and it turned it into an awesome trimmer. I have never been a fan of the string trimmer heads and the jamming and twisting up of the string in the head. I have had the weed thrasher on my old gasoline Echo trimmer and its awesome on there also. As far as im concerned the weed thrasher is the best trimmer head on the market and it just makes the Milwaukee trimmer just that much better of a machine than with the factory head. Thanks for the demo you pretty much said the same as what I thought of the milwaukee system. Im just hoping that they are going to come out with a mini tiller that I can use to till between the rows in my garden LOL

I do lawn care and landscaping professionally, I use all gas equipment for work and all my crews run gas equipment. But for my house I only use electric, even the lawnmower. I love them

Good video brother, I just recently got my hands on one of these...I got the string trimmer, pole saw and the hedge trimmer. I also have the older string trimmer and I am here to tell ya that the newer unit is faster than the older unit ( string trimmer ) and it seems to have more power as well. Pole saw is great, as is the hedge trimmer. Kudos to Milwaukee for not rushing to get this system out ahead of everyone else and taking the time to get it right.
Thanks for addressing the voltage concerns, Milwaukee gets plenty of current out of these batteries to run these small brushless motors.

Great review!! I just ran my new one with edger and trimmer head through it’s paces last Saturday ran both attachments for over an hour ( in the heat) and still had two bars left on the 8ah battery.
I also would agree the power was real close to my FA90r!

Milwaukee rocks..tried the EGO weed wacker and was very disappointed. Unit was awkward and I was not happy with results. Returned unit to Home depot and got the Milwaukee#2825-20st wacker quick lock and was very happy with this unit. Works great on low setting, .080 line and lasts forever. the rapid charger is a great bonus, and I can use with my Milwaukee drill batteries.

Have this unit with the trimmer head attachment and the pole saw attachment, I have used the pole saw a bunch and it is awesome, works great from the ground up over head and the hook is nice to be able to pull small branches out that get stuck once cut. Really hoping to see a sweeper attachment in the next year or so too!

One tip: I shot a little Fluid Film in the quick lock shaft then swabbed it around with my finger. Now the attachments slide in and out like butter.

I have the power head and all the attachments, I've used everything a few times, and everything works very well!!

I've got the whole setup, love it! I even have the extension pole that allows branch trimming up to convenient heights. I just wish the shoulder strap was a little more user-friendly.

Good video as usual and informative. The chain saw in video is nice but not convenient in some situations. I was hoping a while back that Milwaukee would come out with a chain saw only that was smaller than what they have out now (2727-20). I wound-up buying the Dewalt DCCS620B 20V MAX XR Compact 12 in. chainsaw. It works very well for the quick small jobs rather firing up my Stihl.

I just started looking at these after buying the 18vlt blower and being impressed. I also own a Stihl Kombi 131R with multiple attachments and it’s badass but also kicks my ass every Summer! There’s no other gas combination system even close to being this good but I just can’t take the physical beating anymore especially with my big yard. I’m also sick of smelling gas in the garage when the can decides to burp! LoL

I think I’m going to jump on board and put it for sale since Summer is just starting.

Good point's about the trigger system durring the review. It's something I've noticed as well while trying out different battery operated models and trying to compare to gas. That sensitivity can be frustrating. I recently picked up the new Echo 58v string trimmer and feel like they made great improvements on their trigger system. A more true variable speed trigger in my opinion

I have the first version of the string trimmer and love it. Disappointed that there does not seem to be an upgrade path to the Quik-Lok.

I just saw these at Home Depot for $299, with the string trimmer attachment, charger, and 8.0ah battery. They need a tiller attachment like Ryobi has!!!
