The Siege of Novogeorgievsk (1915) – A Russian Blunder on the Eastern Front of WW1

A forgotten WW1 battle was the Siege of Novogeorgievsk (1915) where the Germans captured the Russian fortress of Novogeorgievsk (now: Modlin Fortress) in Russian-held Poland on the Eastern Front during the First World War. After the successful Central offensive: the Gorlice–Tarnów Offensive the Germans moved towards Warsaw while the Russians were making the Great Retreat. Great video! As a Pole, I have to say that battles such as this one, that took place in Polish lands but didn't involve any Polish formations (although, there likely could be some Polish conscripts on both sides), tend to be omitted in our education and nearly don't exist in popular memory. Thanks for shining a light on this piece of history.
