Great work as always! The WW1's Eastern front is fascinating and sadly often overlooked. Congratulations from Uruguay.

My favorite WW-1 battle. So many Battles on the Eastern Front are overlooked. Western and Eastern Prussia were once so beautiful.

The Battle of Tannenberg - Maximum interest in this. Busy listening to the WW1 (Great course plus) on audible. WW1 always get overshadowed by WW2. Love your videos!

According to a family member (my late Great Aunt Augusta) who lived through the Russian invasion of East Prussia in 1914, the Russian soldiers didn’t “burn everything”. Yes, they looted and vandalized, but at least there was a farm for them to return to after the victory at Tannenberg. Back then, the village they came from was called Grosswohnsdorf, now within Russian territory.

Love the videos shot on site, adds a great dimensions to the storytelling. WWI is so interesting to me, and especially the lesser publicized areas like the Eastern Front. On the memorial that was there, I don’t like it when monuments and memorials get destroyed, but man that one was very “aesthetically challenged”😉

Interesting episode. The area, with endless lakes provided great opportunities for brilliant maneuvers.

Masurian lakes battle was interesting as well. How two of the Russian generals didn't like each other and refused to march side by side and it costed them dearly

These battles are often unknown to Western Europeans
