I like the vintage but once you’ve had an oyster glide lock bracelet it’s hard to ever go back. Just wish they’d put that feature on all watches. Especially as we age our wrists can swell and shrink up to 1/2” sone days. It’s annoying to have a 10k watch and not have it fit perfectly

When it comes to Rolex, the question isn't old or new... It's real or fake. The first thing I think when I see someone wearing a Rolex is, is it real probably not.

As a rule I’d always go for modern.
The vintage is just too expensive, fragile, not waterproof to handle in my daily activities and I prefer to get reasonable use of my watches.

For the Explorer II vintage all day due to the smaller form factor. The new 42mm is just way way too big for me. The best dollar for dollar Explorer II right now in my opinion is the reference number 16570.

Vintage by and large. I am not a fan of Rolex’s newer thicker lugs and ceramic bezel design. My grandfather left me a 116610LN Submariner which still has the aluminum bezel but the thicker lugs look too big on my wrist.
