The chain stitch is made up of several interlocking loops, or single chain stitches. This stitch is often used as a thicker outline stitch, but can also be used as an embroidery fill stitch when multiple rows are stitched next to one another. It's commonly featured alongside other outline stitches such as the backstitch or stem stitch.

that you so much! I have watched so many videos on how to secure the end, and no one has ever showed how to END the stitch (to hold it together). You are the only one that showed how to do it.

Hi there....Carolyn here :) Just found your channel and I love it! I've liked and subscribed and appreciate your very informative tutorials. Your work is fun and creative and it makes me happy! I'm working on a "Tea Time" tea towel and wanted to give it more of a spark. The chain stitch is the perfect outline for the clock. Perhaps you can recommend a stitch that you feel works best for circles, such as the clock outline. Thanks so much for sharing your talent.

Your instructions are far superior to the book that came with my beginner’s embroidery set. It didn’t even specify what a stitch length was! Though I am very bad at determining length on sight alone; exactly how long is a stitch length?
