The 2023 Vizio V-Series is an entry-level 4K Smart TV that supports Dolby Vision, HRD10 and HDR10+.
Is it a bargain for a 4K TV?

The 2023 V-Series offers a lot of value for its price. The V-Series has an intuitive remote and supports hands-free voice commands. But a few tweaks to its Smart TV platform SmartCast would go a long way with improving the overall user experience.

I've loved Vizio for years. With the amount that I have used my previous 42" it has been solid. But wanted an upgrade. Love this tv

All I know is my 2023 v series has a very nice clear picture and I've used it for casting too and it works perfectly

Question: will it continue to function if it has no internet connection.
My Visio V505-G9 will not Pass Go without a valid, active internet connection.
That sucks for "Cord Cutting" (vs. Cord Swapping) ....

Is there an optical output port on the tv to hookup a sound bar?

Decent review. A lot of people dislike Vizio but they review pretty well. I had one for 13 years and it has been fine. Died on me. I am very old school and can't stand wireless so I bought a 25 ft HDMI cord to use the TV as computer monitor. I have Netflix and Prime and occasionally do something else. So I stream directly from the computer. i just watched the baseball playoffs on ESPN with no problem because Xfinity supports it. No need for built in nonsense.

How do I access local antenna channels like 2, 4, 7, 13.3?

SmartCast is a nightmare. It’s super glitchy. Matter of fact Vizio TV’s are a nightmare. I’m a Maintenance Director at a skilled nursing center. 6 months after installing Vizios TV’s the picture began to fail. We’ve had to replace 8 TV’s so far. They are not durable and most certainly aren’t designed for a setting where they’ll be on most of the time. Meanwhile the 10 year old LG’s are still holding up. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Just bought a Vizio v series 50 inch and there is a light sphere on the bottom right of the tv. I was wondering it there's a fix for this without opening it up

The tv is nice but… The remote is missing the Info button. Why??? I have to use my remote from a Vizio tv I have had for at least 5 or 6 years to view the info on channel and program.

Hey Jim, I can't find any help on my USB Flashdrive with MP4s on it, to play the whole movie (s). Only about 3 minutes of each. I have a Vizio 435 J01 HDR and it has 1 slot for USB 2.0. My flashdrive is a 3.0 that I am trying to use. I only have 2 options in formatting USB, NTFS or exFAT. So I tried another Flashdrive, also 3.0 with the FAT selection and it doesn't play the full shows either. Can you help me, or anyone that might read this?

10 years ago Vizio was dog shit. Nowadays they seem like they are a lot better.

I love my V-series 50" TV with tuner that I have in the bedroom. Picture is nice (once I got it dialed in) both in the dark and in bright situations. I don't use the game mode on that TV. I have an E-series 55" in the living room that, although it doesn't have Dolby vision, it does have 12 local dimming zones and better color after I dialed it in. For the average person, Smartcast would be fine. But, for me, I needed a few apps including HDHomerun, which Smartcast doesn't support. HDHomreun recommends Plex, which doesn't support 4K or ATSC 3.0... So I got an Onn (Walmart) Chromecast + Google TV 4K for the bedroom and a standard Nvidia Shield for the living room.

I do agree with you the SmartCast looks very similar to Google TV UI. I have a Vizio M Series 2015 55 inch and a Vizio P Series Quantum 2018 65" they both have Chromecast with Google TV 4K devices connected to them. Btw I'm not a fan of Vizio SmartCast UI.

I hate smart cast. It’s terrible. Vizio I think has gone down hill the last 5-6 years. But very good review

I just got one of these, and while the picture is great, there's a high-pitched electronic buzzing sound if you set the backlight too high (over 50) that's very apparent if you set your tv to low volume. If you game, settings are preset whenever you start it up and the buzzing is even worse. Playing with the options did not help.

Do not buy the V series Vizio TVs. Bought one 7 days ago and found out that it will not display at 4K on my Xbox one S and Xbox Series X and PS5 it defaults to HDMI compatibility mode and scales back to 1080p this is not acceptable. I called Vizio customer support and she had me on hold for an hour and came back and said I had to upgrade to the M series to get 4k gaming this is BS. My LG did 4k no problem. I am returning it fuc Vizio.
