6:38 is actually because the plane is not moving until you approach the back opening, then it starts to move in the scripted therefore you will be thrown out and even clip trough the frame.
the crash fail cutscene is only triggered if the plane is floating for a cretin amount of time (I believe around 30 sec), that's why you will always end up jumping from the same height.
