Sam Seder and the MR Crew discuss.

We stream our live show every day at 12 PM ET.

Sam Seder: This is pretty amazing and in some respects, I gotta say a little bit scary the prime ministers of Poland the Czech Republic in Slovenia are going to be meeting with Zelinskyy, the president of Ukraine today in Kyiv. Kyiv apparently was like getting bombed through the night I think there was a half dozen people or so who died targeting residential areas, apartment building, of course, it seems to be basically no one seems to be refuting that and nobody seems at this point to be shocked, this seems to be the plan, but it is a scary prospect you have nato leaders or I should say leaders of countries that are in NATO heading to a war zone because that opens up the potential of the Russians being able to widen this conflict. It also suggests that Kyiv, still now weeks you could say I think into this conflict, is relatively safe, so we will see. But what is really interesting is what's happening and we've seen multiple videos over the past couple of days of what's happening in Russia. this uh just came across the transom as it were, a former worker and it's unclear how she got into the studio, but this is she's a formal or maybe she's just former after she did this not quite sure but she's a formal channel one Russia staffer her name is Marina Ovsyannikova and this is what she did in the middle of the newscast I guess...

Emma Vigeland: Insanely brave...

...

SS: And you see they just cut away to some other clip apparently, what was also amazing the newscaster didn't seem to even bat an eye...

EV: I know right.

SS: She just kept going and then uh put up the this is the she released a recorded statement um it's in Russian obviously so this is in Russian the translation is what is happening in Ukraine right now and she released this we should say timed with what she did on the television because I think she probably knew that she would end up being detained or arrested...

i gotta say, it's really refreshing when emma gets emotional talking about various topics on the show. i don't take pleasure in her emotional distress mind you, i just feel like a lot of news coverage over-values the idea of "professionalism" and detaches itself coldly from the horror and tragedy that is often covered in the news. it's not performative sorrow in a thoughts and prayers way, it's genuine human empathy manifesting in voice cracks and trembling speech. i really love emma's presence as co-host.

She knows exactly what's going to happen to her and she does it anyway. She's courageous in my opinion and I hope she's got the stamina for anything they can possibly do to her.

Goddess, I would not have a tenth of her courage. Kudos to her! If only more people were as brave, perhaps we would not be here

Vlada hasn't left climate activism to engage herself against this war. Bombing places to rubble, killing thousands and forcing millions to flee isn't exactly carbon neutral, is it? Then there's all the other greenhouses gasses involved. Our struggle is for Climate Justice, for Planet and People. IT IS THE SAME STRUGGLE. Some aspects of it are now more imperative if you live in Russia, that's all. My solidarity and admiration go to Vlada. She is inspiring!

*No American would be brave enough to do that. !!!! Imagine someone doing that in Tucker Carlson's show!!!! The Dollar Sign is just too scary to lose over that of freedom!!!*

The average russian (consevative) doesnt care about an issue until it directly affects their life. When sanctions directly affect their life, they are forced to care. Dont even need them to be anti war just to be invested in the outcome, the rest will sort itself out once they realise there is no winning just different degrees of losing.

They're all out of Ukraine now, and presumably back home reporting to their respective parliaments.

Emma at 11:35 forward is the best and most important part of this video. These Russian protestors are heroes, the bravest people of our time.

Ivan Urgant is a Russian comedian who hosted what was Russia's own version of a late night talk show, he's had American celebrities like Mila Kunis and Stephen Colbert on there before. After the invasion he posted something on social media expressing his opposition towards the war. His show has been taken off the air and his exact whereabouts are unknown, some speculate he fled the country altogehter. This has been common for a lot of other Russian artists, actors and public figures who had voiced opposition.

Your Afghanistan analogy doesn't work since Ukraine never flew a plane into a Russian building.

Luckily representatives of the EU and UN was very quick to contact Russia regarding what would happen to her!
So she was released after getting a huge fine!
She had also released a video prior to her action!

She’s still a TRUE HERO!

Edit 15 hours after I wrote this, I found out that the fine is only for what she put up on Social Media - so she will probably have to go to trial for what she did during the live broadcast!

where does the money go when we pay Russians, straight to Putin

Kinda weird seeing this from the same channel doing Russian apologia and downplaying Russian invasion less than half a month ago. It’s really naive not to think there won’t be collateral damage on the civilian side even in Russia or Russians abroad

Scenes that you'll probably not see on the world of free press, because there's total journalistic consensus.
