NHL® 23 introduces new innovations that will change the way you play this year in HUT thanks to exciting new live service narratives, and all new additions to HUT rivals.

Cross-platform matchmaking in HUT across same-generation consoles will speed up wait times and bring in even more teams for you and your squad to square up against.

In a complete refresh of HUT Rivals, the arrival of HUT Rivals Playlist lets players compete in a variety of new rotating game themes. Following feedback from our community, you can now unlock three additional tiers of rewards based on Win or Win Streaks, which will be granted immediately.

In a historic update, IIHF Women’s National Team members can now play alongside men in a HUT lineup, allowing you to make your dream team of the sport’s best players a reality. Plus, national team players will have both base and master items incorporated into events.

I just want them to modernize the Enterprise Center for the Blues. In real life its a lot different than what they have in the game now.

Outside of allowing me to choose the skill level difference between me and my opponent - this was pretty bad. I have zero interest in being forced into play 3 V 3, arcade style, shorter periods etc. in Rivals. That should be a 5 V 5 simulation style hockey mode, simple as that. The fact that the first 3 week themes are Burst, Arcade and then 3v3 means you have to wait until almost mid-November before getting classic 5v5 action. Extremely disappointing and a very unwelcome change.

I canceled my pre order, don't won't to play 3vs3 or arcade mode or play with themed teams , if your going to have these then at least bring back on line seasons for those of us who want to play normal 5vs5 , I'll stick to vs until then

No 5v5 is absolutely horrendous I was my fav mode and I love 5v5 cause it feels realistic. There should be a choice to play 5v5 and then the 5% of player that don’t wanna play 5v5 can play stupid arcade and 3v3. Also wasnt hut rush made just for that reason😂 like come on EA this game looks amazing but u had to mess it up somhow SMH

I dont get it man, why is it always one step forward two steps back. Yea cross play and new matchmaking is great but why am I forced to play certain modes now. Why can't 5v5 and the weekly mode be on at the same time. I only played rivals last year and now you can only play 5v5 in champs? When 5v5 is what most people want to play to begin with and now I can only play it certain times in the week or when its in the rotation. pretty disappointed to hear about the changes regarding rivals this year.
