The anchor could not bring herself to raise any critical question. She chose to get the perspective of a war monger general. The result was obvious : more warmongerings. If one wants to see the casualty proportionally to the population, the anchor could have pointed out that the same standard should be applied for Palestinian as well. The whole conversation had the telltale sign of seeing Palestinians as sub-human.

Here's the voice of a general, better known for his scandals and war decisions, now an authority on conflict? Perhaps before dispensing wisdom on current crises, he should account for his own murky past. Where's that call for ceasefire, that glimmer of humanity, amid his own controversies? If only accountability wasn't selective, maybe then we'd see some genuine leadership.

You can sense that his experience in Iraq was brutal one. There is war, and then there is urban warfare. Gaza is a condensed, compressed and concentrated version of Fallujah. Hamas is the least fanatical group of fighters over there. The IDF is a glorified police force with F16's and Mirkava tanks. They will not be able to penetrate a few meters into the strip without collapsing. The Americans are going to do heavy lifting here if this invasion going to work.

The amount of aid destined to Palestine should be sufficient to re-build nice apartments for the entire population plus schools and hospitals. They should also procure urban-planning, water and electricity, and, most importantly, services in the fields of economics, sociology and psychology to help them overcome the oppression of poverty, being careful though to opt-out from a “liberal” economy that would push and coerce citizens into the dark tunnel of competition, comparing, overconsumption, shopaholic addictions and overspending. On the contrary, they should be allowed to live a peaceful and holy life of work, religious dedication, modesty and altruism.
