This captures the early days of One Piece masterfully. Everything back then was so soul crushing without needing to sink a whole island to relay the message.

Summary : My most favorite character in the East blue saga. He appeared as a weak man starving to death, but when he attacked pearl, his true strength surprisingly revealed. Sanji is about to lost his life, but again tragic, he can't kill the man who gave him food when he was about to die, and start crying. He also shows his loyalty to a captain who is not supposed to be respected anyway, and saved luffy from the gas explosion. Cold hearted deamon or whatever he was, he was a true warrior and one of the most respectful character. Don't know manga brings him back or not, he preserved a special place in my heart. ♥️

This saddens and makes me happy at the same time. I like one piece's more technical aspect of animating choreographic fights than just using effects 24/7, this was an amazing scene! And this was at the START of the series!!

0:15 This moment is so much cooler in the original. Sanji does a handstand to narrowly avoid his head being split open, then he smoothly transitions to a reverse axe-kick from the handstand, and because he was on his hands he couldn't generate as much power so Gin recovers quickly to counter-attack. It didn't make Sanji look weak because he was delivering a kick without leverage, but still managed to daze Gin.
In this version, Sanji winds up a quadruple somersault spinning kick from the heavens which would make no sense to do in this situation and Gin turns around like he was lightly slapped in the face. As if Sanji is weaksauce.
The animation is definitely better but the choreography doesn't make any sense.
