To me, the movie is more of a satire of the modern American social/political climate. You could stick any issue into the discussion and it would work.

With no exaggeration, this is one of the deepest movies I’ve ever seen. You really have to look past the humor to see the seriousness in which we face as a society. The ending scene and DiCaprio’s final line is so moving words can’t explain.
This movie is criminally underrated. None of my friends have watched it and it’s so mind boggling to me.

it's a brilliant film. Why are so many focusing on climate change or a comet destroying Earth. The film deals on many levels, climate change is a minor part of it. It's about media manipulation, government, idiocracy, social media, selfishness, etc it dealt on many levels.
