Learn to Juggle in 8 Days!

I definitely thought this would take longer than it did...

@TaylorTries made the juggling tutorial that helped me get to this point - check her channel out if you're interested in trying for yourself!

The first day/hour is a bit rough, but from the second day on, it was very fun and ended up being something I looked forward to.

DAY 16 of daily videos! :)

One day when I was a child I was bored (this was maybe late 80s, early 90s) and I decided - right, today I'm going to learn how to juggle. I sat in my garden for literally 8 HOURS practising and I finally got it! Interesting that it took you 8 hours as well. :)

Awesome video, Lefie. My wife can juggle- it makes my heart swoon every time I see her juggle. You are killing it with the videos lately. Loving them. I got a can of that Blue coffee today and drinking it now- pretty good stuff and strong. Thanks for your channel it has sparked motivation and interest in the little things for me lately and was much needed. You rock! Many thanks from San Francisco :) ❤

Juggling is so cool, I can do this basic move and don't even need to add to it. I use it as a refresher when working and writing, since it really keeps my brain and mind off of the tasks at hand. So it is a very useful, everyday skill.

You could try and learn to juggle clubs next! It adds a whole new rotational aspect to it that really feels great when you get it down!

This was the first video of yours that I watched a week or so back. Now I’ve come back around to it as I am watching all of your videos in order. I really enjoy your channel and I can’t wait to hear more about your comic book! Keep up the great work!

Minimalistic skill suggestion: Try speed cubing (solving a Rubik’s Cube fast) if you’re interested. Go for less than 1 minute, and then less than 30 seconds. I’d suggest getting a Yuxin Little Magic (from the Cubicle or SpeedCubeShop) for only a couple bucks (actual Rubik’s brand is terrible for speed cubing). Then learn CFOP (a YouTuber called JPerm should have some tutorials). This won’t mean anything right now but you can start with 2 look OLL and 2 look PLL and then upgrade to 1 look PLL that way there’s less to memorize. OR if you only care about solving it at all look up the beginner’s method and you can probably get it down to (less than?) a minute or two with that and a minimum amount of memorization.

Things being less physical than you'd think reminds me of music school. I remember making a tiny adjustment to my singing in class, under the professor's instruction, and getting exhausted as if I had run a marathon! The prof laughed at my huffing and puffing and said something to the tune of "Yeah, when you start using muscles you're not used to using, it can be pretty tiring to start out." 😆
congrats on the cool new juggling skill! We stan a relatable and interesting queen 😁🤍🤍👑

As you learn new skills, you may want to look into interleaving practice vs blocked practice. Make it Stick by Peter Brown discussed this, and there was a discussion recently on the podcast Tea for Teaching (though the focus is academic)

Awesome. It was worth the time and effort . You proved that you can learn a new skill in 8 hours (one third of a day) amazing!!! Sometimes it’s hard for me to get past the thought that it would take too long to learn a new skill. I’m sure that builds your confidence when you accomplish the skill faster than you expected.

Cat's don't juggle - although I did once witness 2 cat's (brothers Ollie and Stan) playing tennis with a mouse. It was intense.
Amazing work 8 days! Most impressed! Piano next? :-)

Ha! I saw those balls in a previous video and was wondering when you’d share them with us. Nicely done, Lefie!
