Be Careful Who You Buy From on Facebook!

There are scammers on Facebook pretending to sell items from their Dad's house. If you engage with them, you're going to be scammed.

Here's the full paragraph they are using. Feel free to paste it over at Facebook and see all the results!

"Hello guys, we are clearing out items from my Dad's house (he got moved to aged care) and he is no longer in need of these items and he is glad to have the extra money for other expenses on coming holidays. We have a truck and can deliver at a small extra fee. Send a Dm if interested in any item."

Ben, I want to thank you. Thanks to your videos, I was able to save my little sister from The Research Position Scam a few days ago. As soon as she mentioned that they were using the word KINDLY, I literally started screaming SCAMMER, SCAMMER, SCAMMER and guess what? Her university sent out a warning about said Scammer 3 days later! Thank you SO much! You helped me and my siblings save one of our own! Keep doing what you're doing. We need folks like you now more than ever. Mad Love from The Motor City, MR07. ❤️🚗🌃

It is shameful how little effort Facebook puts into preventing this.

The fact that people steal pictures of someone's child in a hospital setting is just downright vile! Love the work you do Ben!!

Atomic Shrimp taught me that "alaye" is something to throw out in order to fish out scammers. They use it as kind of a code word to determine if the person they're communicating with is a scammer as well.

The sad part is that FB does not care. I have flagged several obvious scams only to receive the reply that they were reviewed and were not in violation of their TOS.

Sending a video of you "stealing" the Kitchen-Aid was brilliant. Bravo.

11:38 had me in stitches. Really enjoyed Ben/Mike "stealing" the KitchenAid. One of my favorite scambait videos for sure.

The trolling of the scammer here is on another level. Brilliant. But on a serious note thank you for raising awareness of these scams.

This is why I’m too skeptical to buy ANYTHING from Facebook, especially since I’ve sadly been scammed myself

On the other hand- it is impossible to post anything for sell without tons of scammers in the inbox asking for send item without paying

Scammers deserve nothing. One grain of sand is far more valuable than even every scammer combined on earth.

It's really important to read these ads for syntax and grammar as well. I knew this was not a US based ad when the seller used the phrase "aged care". Someone from the US or Canada would use a completely different phrase. It's not just "kindly", that you have to look out for.

The government needs to crack down on these scammers. This is going on for way too long. The government better start going after people for this scamming. It's so wrong. I hate scammers

It’s so funny that after I watched this video I got a YouTube ad for “Send money to bank accounts in Nigeria in a few clicks” 😂

I reported like 20 of these exact scam to FB and they did nothing as usual. Glad at least to see you did a video about those. Maybe that will get some attention from people using FB.

Omg that was too funny! Well played 😂😂😂

There's currently another common scam going about on FB marketplace involving PS5's. The body of the text is something along the lines of "giving away my sons PS5. He sadly passed away and I cannot bare looking at it. Want to give it away to bring someone else joy" Then when you ask where they're from, they're miles from the local area of which it was advertised. They "know" someone who can ship it at a fee etc etc (you know the rest)
