It's awesome to see a bigger youtube artist using their phone to film! Gives me hope that I can grow without having to invest too much into equipment too! <3 Thanks for the informative video

This is so relatable, trying to get an overhead shot is hard. You shared some really good advice, thanks :)

Overhead shots are so tricky! I always have an issue with my hands and arms casting too much shadow onto what I’m filming. 😓 But I think it’s because I need better lights. Oh! If you ever need a weight to help stabilize your tripod, check out Manfrotto counterweights! We use them sometimes at freelance gigs to keep a tripod or stand steady; they clip really easily onto most things. 👍

this is super insightful and I actually love that it isnt "professional, " it's realistic and encouraging to people so thank you for showing this!

I’m not sure how I got to this point because I haven’t really thought about it, but you and pypah’s art are my favorite YouTubers. I just really enjoy your videos unconsciously and I haven’t felt this way about any other channels without losing interest. You’re great.

As a Instagram and YouTube artist that is looking for other, easier methods, this video is so helpful

The shoelace trick is so easy yet I would have never thought about it. Thank you.

This is probably the best video of its kind I’ve seen. I think this gives many people hope. Most videos about on filming art videos for YouTube are not very beginner friendly. They almost all tell one to use expensive equipment to film videos . There are very few using a phone and no one else I’ve seen shows how to hack it if you don’t have the right equipment. Well done.

This was very helpful + it's great to show that you don't need super pro and expensive equipment to make good content. Thanks a lot!!

This is so helpful! When you started with the disclaimer I was waiting for you to say it was very expensive, so I'm so, so glad you decided to film this video and show how your workstation works. I just can't justify putting a lot of money into an expensive setup before I know I wanna go ham or not, so thank you so much for this! We definitely need more solutions like this rather than just " buy the most expensive and best equipment" hahah

Girl, cant appreciate enough you painting for such long hours standing, kudos to you.... I find placing the tripod extremely difficult to change my camera position... Thanks for this video, I now know I am not the only one strggling with the camera setup all the time.

This is a great video! It's really comforting to know that other you tubers also exclusively use their phone to film! If you're looking for a good overhead filming rig though, there's this product called the Canvas Lamp that I use that makes it really easy to film! It essentially does the same thing as your tripod/camera arm/cardboard tube does but has a ring light built into it and isn't shaky!

This is really insightful, I always want to assume that artists who get really nice even lighting and vivid colours might have some sort of intricate fancy overhead rig frame set up. Makes me feel a little bit more confident about the fact that the times I have filmed has been on my phone using a selfie stick balanced in a beer stein weighted down with brush cleaning wipes. (I mean ... not much, because I still get beer stein quality ... but a little. XD) Always love the little extra accents! <3

My set up is literally a desk light with a flat beam for the light part that I angle at 90 degrees and balance my phone on it so it's a good top down view! It does the trick for now! I'm so happy you shared your setup because its amazing to see the artists I look up to being creative with their set up as well! Love your content and I'm excited to see you grow and grow! (:
