Oh my god, finally somebody who tells people what they need to know! I have been looking for hours for a tutorial exactly like this one! Nice

Best tutorial. To the point without bloating the time, direct and easy to understand. Exactly what a tutorial should be, thank you.

Bruh, you did all that, explained it perfectly, and didn't preview example at the end, lol.
No joke, this is also one of the best explanations that's right to the point too.

I don't understand why you think it's cool to have the automation mode button. Before when I wanted to move a clip with the automation (the majority of the time) I could just grab it anywhere and move it. If I wanted to lock the automation I could hit the lock button. NOW, I have no choice but to go click a button everytime I want to edit automation, or I have to click on a very small part in the top of the clip to actually be able to move it while in automation mode, or turn auto mode off. BUT, if I'm using my actual keyboard to play midi notes, I can no longer use the "A" key as the shortcut. I have to choose between using my keyboard for midi or having to click the god damn automation button every time I want to even look at any automation!! AND when I've got the full clip selected, I can no longer pull just the automation within the selected area evenly like I always could, it just won't f*ing let me. AND if I do select it right to pull the auto down evenly, I now have to keep my cursor within the bounds of the selection while I'm pulling it or it will slip off the tracks. WHAT THE FUCK WAS ABLETON THINKING? I don't see how this benefits me at ALL, it's just forcing additional steps that slow down my creative process and introduces new rules I have to abide by. I don't get it, and I don't get why you think it's so great. They should have at least provided an option to use new mode or the traditional mode we all knew and loved. It contrived af, like they didn't know what else to do so they went and screwed up everyone's workflow with automation. Because who gives a damn about hmm, I don't know, maybe a PLAYLISTING FEATURE for tracking vocals?? That way I don't have to create a new track for every take? Nah, who needs that?? SO annoyed, sorry for the negative energy.

You can also just press "A" in the arrangement view to show/hide the automation editor - don't need to click the tiny icon.

I think this is really handy. I always seemed to accidentally screw up some automation when trying to click around

Personally I find this change a HUGE step back. If you have a lot of automation on every track you now have to either see none of it or all of it. With 9 there was much more flexibility as to how much information you see on every track - you could have it collapsed to single line (so just see there's clip or not), you could expand it to see the notes / waveform and you could toggle automation lanes. Now, as soon as global show automation toggle is on, expanding any track to more than single line reveals its automation.

Hope this change is rolled back, or at least per-track toggles are retained :(

A while back you made a great video highlighting the problems with Ableton's Delay Compensation and compared it against the FIRST version of Bitwig (which had fixed the problem of course..)

My BIGGEST question, has Ableton 10 sorted this damning problem out yet??!

I really enjoy your thorough videos btw, I have learned so much! Keep it up, cheers!
