This is a tricky situation. Yeah, generally, you shouldn't film people without their permission. But, it's a theme park and you're filming a character interact with guests. There are tons of videos like this and the fact is, Gaston gets seen by young adults too. Maybe he was thinking about children being filmed. I don't think you did anything wrong.

I think it's the eye contact and the stare down that had me uncomfortable. First I thought it might have been in character but the look in the eyes had me thinking he was just snapping abit.

If a character acted like that to me I think I would’ve cried and had a panic attack. I’ve had people filming characters when I met them and they ended up getting good footage to send to me. He’s turning a bit of innocent filming into something else making you look like a weirdo for filming other people. He’s not even in character anymore. The way he stands there just staring at you is just plain rude! My home Park is Disneyland Paris and thankfully I’ve never had a problem like this. I’m sorry to you that this happened. This was so hard to watch. The person recording sounds so friendly “I’ll arm wrestle you for it.” Like she was genuinely having fun and thinking he was in character but he was just being a jerk. I wonder what he told the attendant to make her come, she looked like she had no idea what was going on.

Yeah that wasnt okay, the real Gaston would love it if the women swooned over him, that wasnt in character and I would have flipped out and got
rude back.
Especially of im an annual passholder, Ive met Gaston a numerous amount of times and yes hes rude but not a douche rude

I think hes referring to the fact fact that other people are also in the video she is recording but with the amount of people in that place at once it's beyond common to have other people in your footage. The actor himself was just being an ass to that person and he had the entire line of people staring at the situation for no reason. I know the heat can get to you, but he needed to lay off after the first comment made but he just kept going.

You were filming Gaston and only his face which was totally ok and he should have been ok with it but if not idk what his problem is. However if I was a performer I would consider the guest and how they might not want to be seen on you tribe seen by everyone I would make sure the guest was filming me and not them Incase they felt uncomfortable with it

What Gaston did basically “ do you know them ?” “ no they are quite strange “ I think so too I’m gonna get out of line and basically tell them in front of everyone they are disrespectful and need to stop now because you “can”

Correct if you want I’m not an expert but I believe you can film because again there are thousands of videos with Disneyland/ Disney world characters. But I do believe that Gastons behavior was so uncalled for

I feel like this might have been him trying to be in character and be playful because a lot of the characters like to make points about the cameras especially the villains, and when you enter the park everyone pretty much consents to to possibility of being on camera. Characters are expected to be filmed and he would know this, Disney are strict with outlining everything. He seemed fairly new around this time so maybe he wasn't completely aware of how it was coming across maybe? Maybe he wasn't used to playing a villain. Or maybe it could have been an off day. But then again you can't really afford to have an "off-day" when you work as a cast member and risk ruining the imagination for people.

That was extremely awkward to watch, and not because of the woman filming, but because of the actor's response. I can tell you there are strangers in the background (and sometimes foreground) of every single one of my Disney vacation photos and videos and it's not weird. It's called a public place. He was way out of line.
