LGE 2021 | Tight contest looming for Matzikama municipality

Ten political parties and one independent candidate will be contesting the local government elections in the Matzikama Local Municipality, in the Western Cape. This municipality is currently under investigation by the Department of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs.
The investigation is looking into irregular payments, as well as irregular appointments and theft. The SABC visited the area and spoke to some of the parties, who say they want to turn the situation around.
