The next needs to be about natural sweeteners such as Stevia and Monk fruit.

Nurses here, love your show, try to do it in a room with less echo please, For most of us it was the answer 40 years ago to keeping weight off, that being said, because of weird hours and shifts and poor eating habits in hospital, we had to inhale food, this was an option, it kept the fat off and we are still normal weight, at the time we though it was a good choice, so glad for your info and it will help us make better choices in the future .And continue with you tube you guys are

Hi Docs.. I’ve been using monk fruit for a couple of years. For me it’s the most natural sugar/sweetener that’s healthy. It’s also very sweet so you need to use less. Great video as usual.!

I remember growing when we would visit my grandparents farm, my grandma always telling me to never use artificial sweeteners.
She always said they r not good for u.
I remember she gave an actual medical reason for it, but I can not remember at the moment what that was though.
She also never trusted any of the diet sodas either, even when they first came out.
And there is now medical evidence that they aren't good for u either.

Majority of her food she always made from scratch using food she grew on her farm.
And what she did buy at the store she was always pretty picky about what kind she bought.

I don't care much for the word "artificial". Many of these sweeteners are derived from plants. I am living Ketogenic lifestyle and I have found several sweeteners very beneficial in several aspects such as baking and cooking. A very good topic. Thank you for sharing.

Another good video.
When some realized risks with artificial sweeteners, marketing changed to the words Healthy Substitute and Natural.
News flash, if you have to change a natural food, the process to get it to that point isn't natural.
Gut health with process and absorption becomes the next issue.

Natural means original form.
Something to consider before picking up that pretty bag or box.

Thanks for sharing

Studies like these can be hard to interpret. If what they did was let people select for themselves whether and how much artificial sweetener they use, even if they exclude diabetics, they've got a big confounding factor in that people who use them are more likely to be struggling with their weight, and likely have a higher BMI than the control group. Even if some of these people have good BMIs, they may well have the same metabolic/genetic/whatever difficulty with controlling their weight, just are more successful at it.

I haven't read the paper, but it can be hard to impossible to control for many important factors when studying people "in the wild".

Another great and informative video! 👍
I have never cared for sugar substitutes because of the strong aftertaste.
For a while I used Fructose as I could buy it in bulk. It looks just like regular granulated sugar. After the first month of using it in coffee and cold drinks, I lost 5 lbs without doing anything else.
Another time I was using Agave as my sweetener . The good thing about using those two sweeteners is they metabolize slower and don't give you spikes in the blood sugar. Even honey metabolizes slower.
There are many substitutes available now, usually derived from fruit. I feel like they are better choices than products like Aspartame.
My brother and sister both use products with Aspartame but I think it's worse for you than regular sugar.
It's very nice of you to provide this "hot off the press" information! Hopefully it will help people who are trying to find a sugar substitute.
Unfortunately, the more natural sugar substitutes cost considerably more. Monk Fruit, coconut sugar and dates are more expensive than granulated sugar.
But again, you have given us some food for thought!
Thanks for always sharing these informative videos!

I knew it! My hubby has been taking them for years as he wanted to give up sugar. I said just wean yourself of sugar as I did, but no, the sweeteners were a better idea! I’ve had my doubts about them for such a long time . He’s so stubborn, he won’t listen to me...i know best! 😉😁👍

hey guys. Thanks again for knowledgeable video! On a side note, it was a little hard to understand. The audio had "hollow" and distant sound to it. Thought you would like to know. :)

Another great video, thank you so much!! I know I can't handle these artificial sweeteners very well, they cause a lot of bloating for me.
