Did a nuclear explosion create the world of the Flintstones? There's some Flintstones fan theories going around the net that suggest that the Flintstones really happened in the future, perhaps after the Jetsons or at the same time as the Jetsons.

I take a look at these fan theories of the Hanna Barbera universe and tell you what I think would be cool if it were true. The biggest theory is that the Flintstones live a post-apocalyptic future. This theory could explain a lot. I go into why on the video.

And i try to explain how George Jetson supposedly went back in time to meet Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble.

The flintstones could take place in the fallout universe, it's styled like post war america and the electronic devices like record players and tvs can be powered by fusion cores.

Yes, celebrating Christmas before the birth of Christ seems anachronistic and also they perform Shakespeare plays before the birth of Shakespeare. For that matter, they see a movie entitled "One Million BC" about life in the future. They also visit the "Grand Canyon" while it's just a small rivulet. Fred remarks that it's supposed to be a big thing someday. This is problematic for the notion that the Flintstones actually exist in the future.

In one episode of the Flintstones Fred does mention the YMCA (Young Men's Christian Association) in the episode titled "Pool trouble". How could there be Christianity back in the stone age? NOPE. As revealed, the Flintstones "a Modern stone age family" living in a post apocalyptic world. No wonder they celebrated Christmas, had a YMCA, and in the Flintstones cartoon movie where Bam Bam and Pebbles tie the knot, they get married in a church setting before a minister. Now it all makes sense.

Here's another sinister theory for you. Astro the dog used to be a man. He was in the high crime underbelly of the civilization and in order to pay off his debts, he had no choice left but give up his life as a man and agree to be surgically altered into a dog to be a family pet in an upper class family living in the clouds. But not everyone in the Jetsons' world is so wealthy as they are.
