In Haiti, police working with Kenyan forces have launched a joint operation to force criminal gangs out of the capital Port-au-Prince.
Haiti's prime minister made the announcement while visiting a hospital treating officers who were injured in a shootout earlier in the week. Kenyan forces are on the ground as part of the UN's security mission to Haiti. More than 3,200 killings have been reported this year due to gang violence.
Prime Minister Garry Conille is calling for Haitians to support the operation.

Haitians need to be more patient. It has taken yrs for the gangs to take almost complete control of their country. They shouldn't expect a very small contingent of Kenyan police officers to do wonders within two months. This may equally take yrs to resolve, and of course, more cooperation and increase in the number of other foreign police forces.

Nonesense. Before the Kenyans came your airport had been taken over by gangs. Your main hospital was taken by gangs. Your major port had been taken over by gangs. But all that has changed since the Kenyans arrived and you shamelessly say nothing has changed. Shame on you!!

It is important to establish stronger controls over the flow of arms to Haiti, as this could play a significant role in curbing the escalating violence.

Come on now, can't expect miracles, they need time to make a difference. I can happen but only if they get the time and are allowed to operate like is needed.

The Kenyan soldiers are so coward. They flee against the gangs from the fields and do not cover Haitian Police in operations. Zero for them. 😮😮

Haiti needs a lot of money to rebuild their infrastructure and give the local men jobs and hope for the future. The International Court should really get France to return the money they gangster away from Haiti after France was kicked out from the country
