For as long as I can remember, every time I go on vacation with my family in the car, we have to play Deep Purple. The trip always kicks off on the road with a shout of "WE'RE GOING ON VACATION, " and then "Highway Star" starts, and we all clap. We listen to "Machine Head" in its entirety, followed by "Perfect Strangers" and "Who Do We Think We Are" out of habit. We also enjoy other bands like Rainbow, Van Halen, Whitesnake, and Dio. Now that I'm 32 years old, I feel lucky if I get to share that moment with them. Whenever I travel with other people, I have to do that ritual because it means the vacation is going to be great. It used to be on cassette, then CD, USB, and now Spotify, but the spirit remains the same. The love of family and friends combined with great music like Deep Purple, creates a magical experience. Thank you for continuing to make new music. Even though I haven't met you, I love you and I am grateful for always being with me throughout my life.
