My story During Flight 1380: It was a sunny, Easter day. Me, and my mom decided to go easter hunting on that day. We picked a LOT of Easter eggs. Later at night when the news came on on the ABC afternoon news, my mom saw the horrifying start, On Southwest Airlines 1380 there was an engine failure on Engine No.1, killing a passenger, Jennifer Riordan. Some of the debris hit the window also hitting her. The plane gladly made an emergency landing at Philadelphia International Airport, that my mom got super scared. She didnt tell me so i did not get scared of flying. I was a little kid when that terrible crash happened.

There is actually an error in the animation, If you look at 0:19, the plane Banks left as the engine explodes, but at 0:24 when it explodes, the plane is completely level!

Surprising how a small fan blade about the size of your hand to elbow can do that much damage..

At 0:26 if you pay attention to the 11th window from the right side you can see when it gets hit by the debris and breaks.

On April 17, 2018 Southwest Airlines flight 1380 had catastrophic left engine failure 20 minutes after takeoff from LaGuardia airport in New York. The catastrophic engine, failure lead to rapid decompression, which halfway sucked out Jennifer Riordan, who died later. The flight safely landed at Philadelphia. International airport in Pennsylvania 148, out of 149 people on board survived.

I always watch the videos of these before I read the Wikipedia page. While some are obviously unsurvivable, I always hope for the best when I see one that looks like some people on board might have made it. This one was a rare fist pump "yes!" when I saw the plane touching down. Extremely saddened to learn that one life was lost; but still, what an amazing job by the captain and co-pilot. Southwest has a reputation for being poor quality, but this cockpit crew was remarkable.
