It took the Mumbai Police almost a month to track down the main shooter in NCP leader Baba Siddique’s murder. But the investigation is yet to find the mastermind behind the gangster-style killing in Mumbai on October 12. Baba Siddique's son Zeeshan Siddique says he gets more information from the media than from the Mumbai Police.
On The Curious MiC with Rahul Shrivastava, Zeeshan Siddique has raised several questions about the role of the security personnel when his father was fired upon at close range around 9:20 pm on Dussehra night.
He has also questioned the narrative that was quick to link Baba Siddique's murder with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, saying his family had not received any threat.
Zeeshan says his father may have been a victim of a larger conspiracy linked to redevelopment projects in Mumbai's Bandra East.
Just 13 days after Baba Siddique's death, Zeeshan left the Congress and joined Ajit Pawar's NCP. He is the NCP candidate and is hoping to retain the Vandre East assembly seat.
His victory in 2019 on a Congress ticket, didn't go down well with the undivided Shiv Sena, which considers Vandre East as its stronghold. That brought Zeeshan face to face with the realities of coalition politics, where, he says, ideologies are made to take a backseat.
