When you complain about Captain Kirk breaking the prime directive and then you break the prime directive by beaming away from a non warp capable planet in front of its citizens.

It would have been priceless if Brent Spiner walked in on this, even as Bob Wheeler!

The best part is Dan's reaction to them teleporting away, like he's thinking "I don't get paid enough for this job"

Little did them Starfleet stooges know that a surgically-altered Klingon is the prosecutor.

I like how the guy who's dressed up like Geordi complains about Kirk constantly breaking the Prime Directive, then when he's sentenced to a night in jail, he beams out to avoid it, which is breaking the Prime Directive.

I love how Dan is poking fun at the Trekkies, yet John Laroquette himself is a Star Trek alumni, playing one of the main Klingons in Star Trek, being the only one of them to survive the film!

"How do you like the bailiff Bull grip?" God bless you, Richard Moll.

John Laroquette (Dan, the prosecutor) was a Klingon in Star Trek 3: The Search for Spock.

The fact that they were arguing over androids being on the command deck is hilarious, as the android in question, Data, was played by Spiner, who had been a regular on Night Court. In fact, he had turned down an offer to play Bob Wheeler as a more regular character in order to take the spot on TNG.

I'm a Trekkie.  I've gotten loaded and hired strippers plenty of times...albeit they had to wear green paint.

Most of that stuff is true how weird a real night court can be. Had a family member that was a police officer in New York City back from the late 1960s till the early 1990s. He said Barney Miller and Night Court were more fact then fiction with out the comedy or lag track.

Huh. I forgot Night Court and TNG were on at the same time.

God, I loved this show. Yes, I am that old.

"What do we have here, a little friction between the old Trekkies and the new?"
What do we have here, a closet Trekkie?

Here's a little trivia: John Larroquette played Matlz on Star Trek III.

She was crazy cute back in the day.
