I like how the guy who's dressed up like Geordi complains about Kirk constantly breaking the Prime Directive, then when he's sentenced to a night in jail, he beams out to avoid it, which is breaking the Prime Directive.

I love how Dan is poking fun at the Trekkies, yet John Laroquette himself is a Star Trek alumni, playing one of the main Klingons in Star Trek, being the only one of them to survive the film!

John Laroquette (Dan, the prosecutor) was a Klingon in Star Trek 3: The Search for Spock.

The fact that they were arguing over androids being on the command deck is hilarious, as the android in question, Data, was played by Spiner, who had been a regular on Night Court. In fact, he had turned down an offer to play Bob Wheeler as a more regular character in order to take the spot on TNG.

Most of that stuff is true how weird a real night court can be. Had a family member that was a police officer in New York City back from the late 1960s till the early 1990s. He said Barney Miller and Night Court were more fact then fiction with out the comedy or lag track.
