Hey I’m a current Mail Processing Clerk. I’ve been working at USPS for over two years. My whole hiring process was sweet. Worked as a PSE for three months and then became a regular. The job is very easy.

Retired from USPS as a City Carrier. USPS always hiring anymore. Used to it was super tough to get on. I was a Vet so that helped me. Now about half of the people they hire Quit. They pay them less, work them long hours and 7 days a Week and treat them like 💩. They can't cut it. I went through most of this myself. Long hours, 6 days a Week 10 hours a day because I was in a Big Office and they always needed coverage. Didn't care if you had something important going on. Seemed like the Lousy Supervisors and PostMaster got their kicks out of ruining your Plans. They treated everyone like 💩. Supervisors and Postmaster made sure it was a Hostile Environment. I stuck it out because I had a family to support and I'm not a Quitter.

I got my fingerprints done and submitted my background check a week ago.
I'm patiently waiting for good news. I don't have anything on my background as well, so it's a relief to hear about the 3 weeks of waiting. I really do hope I get the job.

...the consensus I'm gathering from new USPS applicants is "it seems like a good paying, stable job to have." The reality I'm finding out is management are bullies, and people either: 1.) stay for the money and live miserably. 2.) Wisely move on and keep their happiness

Thank you for sharing the dates of your process & hope things are going well for you. I had an over the phone interview 1 week ago & was moved to the selection list pending background check. The wait for the next step is grueling....

I'm a TTO ( tractor trailer operator) in the Bay Area and was hired 2.5 years ago and when I got the job it was as a PTF ( part-time flexible) . They worked me for 6 and a couple of times 7 day's in a week 10 hours a day and I almost quit not only because I didn't have a life outside of work but the starting pay was bullshit $22.79 per hour. I have over 24 year's of tractor trailer driving experience and it wasn't paying the bills at that hourly rate and because it takes about 10 year's to arrive at top pay which is like $35 per hour. Fast forward to today 2022 they couldn't hire TTO/MVO driver's because of what I mentioned above but they have probably learned their lesson and have made drastic changes in the hopes to keep driver's with experience such as myself and for the one's that they would like to hire. The starting pay as of right now is $28 -$29 an hour and driver's are getting converted to FTR ( full-time regular) in a matter of weeks or month's when before it took year's to become from going part-time status to full-time. Once you are a full-time employee they don't force you to work 6 or 7 day's anymore you have a choice and say in the matter. The medical benefits are great but a bit expensive, also we have a thrift plan ( 401k) which they match and a pension too. I'm now making a little over $30 per hour in less than 3 year's when before it would have taken something like 5-6 years to get there. Now I'm a bit more content. The Postal Service is quite a weird place to work, I was told that you don't have to join the union ( APWU) it's really up to you but if you don't join you won't get some of the benefits you get when you're a member of a union, so I tell new people to join it's a little added protection. The USPS is certainly not for everyone but it does get easier once you get converted into full-time regular employee.

Got an email for motor vehicle background check, said yes to that. Got the email for the National Background check and consented for that. I had my fingre prints
