"Cheap"... Gravel prices have escalated beyond ridiculous. I bought my first gravel bike (cyclocross really) in 2009 and it came with a complete Ultegra Groupset on an aluminum frame for just under 1000 €. Then for a long time you could get a decent aluminum frame with a 105 type groupset for 1100-1200 €. Now they are seriously offering 1500 € bikes with Sora on them. I sure hope this hype dies down quickly.
Last year I bought the Cube Nuroad Race FE for commuting. The 2020 version was listet at 1599 €. I got it for 1440 €. This year's version 2021 has identical components, nothing is changed, and it is listed at 1750 €. This is insanity.

Had the Triban 520 gravel for 4 months. Changed the tyres for Gravelkings and it’s a fantastic gravel/winter bike for less than a grand!

I got the Vitus substance VRS-2 with GRX 600 groupset plus 650b with 47mm Byway tubeless ready which I've done, and will take 700c 42mm bolt thru front and rear ... cost at £1245 🙂👍

Some rather appealing bikes could you wait months for delivery of one though ?
All I've been doing through this (ahem) lockdown, is just upgrading the bikes I because I like working on my bikes...I'd love a new bike but it's somewhat difficult at present....
During this lockdown, I've turned my bright 2017 orange Boardman ADV 8.9 into a 1x10, with an FSA 386 40t crank and BB, an 11-36 t XT cassette, GRX clutch mech, WTB Resolute 42c tyres and tubeless Hunt 4 season gravel wheels for starters. I've now turned my old cable disc 2x9 2014 Boardman CX Comp into a 1x11 SRAM Rival shifters/hydro brakes, Apex clutch mech, 42 t FSA Omega crank and BB, 11-42 cassette, tubeless 38c Vittoria mud tyres all on the original Mavic XM 319 non tubeless rims with no problems at I fitted some new Deore hydro brakes to my 29er....Fourth job is completing a 1x10 conversion on an old 2007 GT MTB (as I have the mech, chain and cassette already, and finally, I ordered some new Claris 8 speed shifters for an old 2010 Specialized Allez road bike I have neglected and rarely ride, which should improve
If you can't get new the upgrade (if you can get the parts, which is a bit hit and miss at present)...

Do cycling magazines not like cube bikes? The cube nuroad Pro is priced under 900 pounds, comes with shimano tiagra group set and is a fantastic bike👌I've had mine for 3 years the most comfortable and best value bike ever!

Get the triban rc500 sora... however. Triban wheels take hours to change, so punctures are very difficult to fix

I used to ride on the road with a mountain bike …actually loved it …switched to a road bike and quickly got a flat tire and was concerned about getting other flat tires with such skinny tires. I’m now thinking a gravel bike would be more in line with what I would enjoy doing mostly on road but being able to pop up on the curb or go off Roading some as well. Any guidance on what to look for? I would love to buy something used to save money But have everything I would need. Thank you for your help.

Trying to choose between Sonder Camino apex mech and Ribble CGR AL Tiagra. How is the Camino on road? How is the CGR off road? Aside from the 1x vs 2x drive trains, how do these bikes compare?

Either have a flat bar or a drop bar, but those semi-flat bars not only look stupid, they also do not even allow to properly position your hands on the lever hoods.
