Fascinating Nature: Coronal Loops Forming and Dissipating

[NOTE: I strongly recommend switching to a HD resolution when watching this - youtube's compression is rather crappy for these smooth color gradients]

The very active sunspot group AR1515/14, which now just vanished behind the horizon, created some very impressive coronal loops, connecting it to its northern hemisphere counterpart AR1516/17. In addition, several strong flares can be seen, for example at 0:54 the X1-class flare of 2012/07/06, and at 1:24 a M6.9-class flare on 2012/07/08. The most interesting loop and arc formations form right after that M6.9 flare.

The clip is a time lapse video over one week (2012/07/04-2012/07/11, 5000x). This movie was created from 10053 individual images.
I created composite images of three channels of the AIA instrument on board the Solar Dynamics Observatory:
- red: 304 Å (prominences and chromosphere)
- green: 171 Å (mostly magnetic flux lines)
- blue: 211 Å (mostly corona)

Thank you very much for providing all the data!
