Upscaling did not take over because it gives up faster FPS. It took over because devs stopped optimising their games so to keep up with the framerate we HAVE to use those tools.

As someone studying game design i want to say, if ray tracing is on all cards with minimal power loss. Then it would be used way more as it can greatly reduce development time, it just isn't there yet.

I used to think dlss and all of those things were great for lower end machines but now its just shown what companies will do and to be honest it feels like nothing will change because at the end of the day they still will be making their money but we’ll see
