To be fair, Lorroakan does seem like the sort to need eternity in order to achieve greatness. Any mathematician knows that any chance of an event can go from microscopic to inevitable given an infinite amount of time.

I mean, Gale gained the attention of Mystra and literally became the lover of the Weave well within the lifetime of a human, without the need for such drastic measures (Mystra probably grooming him aside) so it kind of shows that he's clearly way beyond Lorroakans league, but go off I guess.
