This is why I love Gale the most. Everything people dislike about him is a really just a front he’s projecting as “Gale of Waterdeep”. When you get to know him and uncover Gale Dekarios, he’s so likable. My favorite is when you convince him not to go after the crown because you love him as he is, and then take him with you to confront Lorroakan, and he’s like “Ugh, is this what I sounded like? Thanks for checking me on that. This is cringy.”

I accidentally romanced Gale when trying to romance Astarion. I can't help it that Gale wants to be swept off his feet by a big, lawful stupid hero who stops to help literally every NPC in existence.

One minute, I'm learning magic from my best friend, and the next we're giving psychic smooches in a crypt, covered in the blood of grave robbers while withers rattles away in the background.

How do people dislike this man? When you meet him sure he shows off as a wizard with hubris the size of a skyscraper but just like every other character there are layers to him you got uncover yourself and send time with the character the true Gale is a man that simply wishes to have some confidence in himself and his own abilities that is why he is so determined to get the crown he felt betrayed by the woman he worshipped and loved and believes all he is good for is to blow himself up that is why he wants to become a god but you his friend the one that truly sees his value, the one that has stuck by his side since day one and his possible lover knows he is better than that and you can teach him to see himself like that as well its honestly beautiful that each character in game has such a human feel to them with there own journey even someone like Wyll who is seen as your generic typical good guy there is more to him than meets the eye (pun not intended)
