Get Out Tried To Warn You

Get Out is a masterpiece. It is by far one of the most memorable films I’ve seen in recent years. Of course, there is a racial component to this movie – they were chasing after black people for their bodies, claiming they would make fine “vessels” for the old, sick, and dying white folks. But, did you also get all the deep, hidden messages that were literally screaming right in your face? There is so much depth to this movie – depth that’s worth exploring. Let’s take a deep dive into Get Out and see what you might have missed.

"We hate you but we need you" was the message I got from _Get Out_ . Great analysis!

One of the most amazing subtle details in this movie is that cop scene. At first watch, we just assume that he's being racist and biased towards Chris when asking for his ID, and we praise Rose for standing up for him. But then we realize the truth later, that Rose was preventing the cop from checking his ID and and having Chris put in the system that he was involved in a road incident. That way the cops wouldn't notice if he went missing later on, if they got a missing complaint from someone, and kept her operation in the shadows.

When Chris saw those photos in the closet and saw that the maid used to be Rose's friend and the gardener used to be Rose's boyfriend, that was the most chilling scene for me. I was like Chris, you gotta get out of there.

People fail to realize movies come from reality. Things that’s going on or happened

I have a story. I am currently in a homeless shelter and was invited by another person non black race to attend this church. I was going to the church for five months consistently. This was an all white church. No one treated me badly but I could sense a slight uncomfortableness from the people. Fakeness with kindness. One day the original person that would pick us up from the shelter went out of town so the pastor agreed to transport us. On the way back the pastor ask me only why was I in the shelter? When I tried to answer him he cut me off and told me that there are two reasons why a person is in a shelter is that they are on drugs or crazy. Then he cleans up his statement and says allegedly cause he realizes that he was defaming my character. I never returned to that church nor have I talk to that pastor. The person in the shelter that invited me to this church and was also present in the car when this conversation went on later called the pastor and spoke against what was said. That pastor has not yet apologized to me. Irony of this story is pay attention to people's behavior, words and body jester, it may save your life.

If people would only believe that this is happening in real time

Get out is one of those movies you can't watch a bunch of times. It's so emotionally and mentally triggering. Jordan Peele really out did himself and I applaud him for being so brave to produce a movie like Get out. It is very relative in today's society.

Get Out made me uncomfortable through Chris's interactions with the family it was almost too real, and I think this is what made it a great movie. The Feel

This was an amazing breakdown! I didn’t even notice the color symbolism in their clothes. One thing I did notice is how it appeared the girlfriend was trying defend him against the cop’s interrogation but it also stopped him from giving his last name and being able to be later identified if missing. I have to watch it again with this new perspective. Great work!

I think the family didn't expect Chris to mentally overcome the the psychological challenges he faced because he did not realize what was occuring but in the end he was able to. It required him to respond in a way he knew how. He had to become violent to save his life. I also don't think his friend was confused about what he understood about the daughter. His observation was spot on and he tried to warn him to the max about her. He recognized what his friend was dealing with even when the friend himself didn't. He is a depiction of someone who may be perceived as weak and stupid and even immature but his psychological awareness was way higher than Chris because spent a lot of time suppressing what he already know. How many black people have friends like this. Seem immature and lacking but are intelligent at assessing situations.

God, when the cop car pulled up in the end, i was about to start crying, i was fully prepared for the worst ending. Several people in the theater started cheering when Rod stepped out of the car

As a person who grew up in the Caribbean, where we learn about Slavery very young, the most triggering scenes were the "auction" scene as I had an idea that's what it would be before the camera panned out and also the fact that he "picked" cotton from the chair to pretty much save himself .. we all know Cotton is the thing that kept us captivated for so long and was the thing that saved him in the end. There were so many subliminal messages and themes throughout that most people might have missed unless they knew about Black History. It was a great film that should be watched multiple times to fully understand what it's really about.

I have been in many situations where I felt like the rabbit. From being the only black person in white schools and white churches where my intelligence was perpetually challenged and that fake kindness was evident Out is a masterpiece. i thank God for his protection. I am so glad Jordan Peele went with the right ending demonstrating that Chris won over all that evil.

I have experienced 'friendships' where I noticed the white women tried to assert some form of dominance over me for the duration of the friendship and I never liked that.

I hope we can all get to a place where we genuinely coexist without some form of exploitation occuring.

This movie brought back a comment my paternal grandfather made when I was a child. He said how they made it a point to be nowhere near certain hospitals after dark (in Baltimore). “They’d take Negroes off the streets and experiment on them. You’d just be a missing person…” At the time, I was no older than 10 and thought Grandpa was just sending me up. After seeing this movie, I’m not so sure…🫣

Another detail is that Rose wasn’t defending Chris from giving his ID to the officer in the sense of racial justice. She didn’t want the cop to have a last known location when he would eventually be reported missing
