For dicing, don’t cut to make vertical strips. Cut horizontally ( like you would do for scalloped potatoes). Then put those horizontally cut pieces into the pusher to cut for dicing.

I've watched all your videos and I don't recall any solely dedicated to electric kitchen knife sharpeners. That would be awesome if u could. 😊

I didn't know that you had reviewed this product. I purchased one a couple of months ago and absolutely love it. It's great for older people who have problems gripping things and my 6-year-old grandson LOVES using this slicer/chopper. I don't have to worry about him getting cut so I LOVE having him help me. Win-Win!

Thank you! Last week I bought one of these amazing slicers on Amazon for $33! I wish I'd discovered it years ago. Last year I slipped up slicing a bunch of potatoes and sliced my left index finger to the bone, severed a nerve. Six stitches and now when I touch that finger it feels like hitting my elbow's funny bone.
I had a standard mandolin but I didn't use it. I didn't want to mess with the attachments.
But, if I'd had this slicer I wouldn't have sliced my finger open.
I have found a way to use this new gadget every day for a week. My first job was to slice potatoes thin to make perfect potato chips. It was quick and easy. The next time I made French fries and it too was a success. My only complaint was that I needed to cut my Idaho potatoes to fit the narrow chute.
I played with the dials to select the proper function and then sliced and diced cukes, tomatoes, onions, carrots, rutabagas, lettuce, cabbage, and even several hard-boiled eggs to perfection. I likely won't use the tool for eggs, tomatoes, or other soft items again. They were messy. Hard items are best.
The clean-up was quick and easy and I have not used the tiny brush yet to dislodge any bits. It rinses clean under the pressure of the faucet and a few swishes in hot soapy water.
Voilà!

When slicing multiple potatoes, couldn’t you use the next potato as the pusher—this would be a lot less time consuming than using the pusher for each potato.

If you do kitchen gadgets you should also do a section on cleaning them as well because some gadgets are hell to take apart and clean, it would also add more time to the video

For everyone asking about cleaning...I give mine a quick rinse under the tap, and use the supplied brush to get any stubborn hitchhikers. When it's time to do the dishes after dinner, it gets processed through the soapy water very easily.

I use mine two or three times a week . It doesn't make the prettiest of slices, to be honest, but making a big family dinner every night ? I don't care if it's not Insta worthy, I want fresh food prepped easily and fast. This giraffe looking thing does the job, very well.

Kitchen mandolin slicers are the #1 kitchen injury cause for ER visits! This one looks quite a bit safer when used with the guard and pusher. It also looks fairly easy to use for people with weak hands or other disabilities. A very nice item!

Surprised you didnt show the cleaning part. Its definitely faster than a knife, but a knife is a 2 second clean. This could get stuff stuck in it. Or compare it to a traditional mandolin grater/slicer which is open (dangerous) but easy to clean.

I have this exact same model, I bought it in Spain 2 or 3 years ago. Its excellent for the purpose, and does a great job. its easy to clean too. I definately wouldnt be with out it . Its one of those odd kitchen gadgets that actually works as its supposed to and well made too.

This is the best video on how to use this type of mandoline that I have seen so far. I've had this style a few months, had not seen how to dice, had to guess at it. I don't think my manual explained explained about the 2nd set of blades. Glad I saw this! I have thought if putting a sheet pan under it, I can slice so fast that the food flies!

This looks so awesome! I do wish the feeder tube was long enough that you could put a potato in lengthwise for longer fries, but regardless it seems great.

Bought this because of your review and I love it! I eat a lot of sweet potatoes and tend to be clumsy with knives. I cut myself often. I was getting scared with cutting so many potatoes all the time so I decided to invest in this. It gets the job done so quickly, everything is evenly sliced, no mess, no fear of chopping my hand off.. it's a wonder product! I've had compliments that the carrots in my home made soups look professionally cut because they're all so thin and uniform slices. I must use this 2-3 times a week minimum and just absolutely love it! I'll never go back to just cutting with a knife again.

This one looks like a mandoline mixed with a Slap Chop chopper!
The one I use is a Borner V-Slicer which works great. (Traditional mandoline style but with v shaped blade) and was also $40.
The blades are easily removable (to clean) and reversible (to change thickness etc) although it has less 'settings' for thickness

I have a Boerner V-Slicer that I've used for the past 35 years -- and I still use it at least once a week! Fabulous product, but more basic than what you're showing here... Only 2 thicknesses of slices, 2 sizes of julienne (fries, matchsticks). The only problem is that it's extremely sharp (like most mandolins), thus it's very easy to cut yourself! I like the safety aspects of this new-style slicer, so I may get one to try out! (I'll keep my V-slicer for long french fries, but use the new one for everything else!)
