I have to share a cute story. Myself, mommy, daddy and brother three years my senior were all sitting in the theater watching the film. A young couple sat behind us. One of them looked at my mommy and they could see only her profile maybe she said OMG! Marsha Mason is sitting in front of us. My mommy did favor Ms. Mason.

I was a little girl in love with Mr.Dreyfus. I wouldn’t dare tell my parents. I wanted to be everything like Quinn. Best child actress in the world in my opinion. I’m so happy to watch this interview. This made my day! Thank you all!!!

Thank you so much for this! As a little Nigerian Black American girl growing up in East New York, Brooklyn The Goodbye Girl was EVERYTHING to me. The genius writing of Neil Simon, the stellar performances of Marsha, Richard and Quinn. Seeing them all together like this kept a smile plastered on my face for an 1 hour and 7:40 minutes. THANK YOU for allowing me to relieve a classic and visit with old time cinematic friends. This episode was truly a GIFT!

This was such an influential movie for me in my life. I was 17 when I first saw this. One of my most favorite movies. My love for NYC just deepened. I had already been there as a 10 year old and then again as a 20 year old and then again as 22 and then I moved there for almost 7 years. Lived in the theater district, upper west side and the impression on my life is still there, LOVE LOVE LOVE this movie and still watch it numberous times. I am forever in love with this movie!! Love The Goodbye Girl so much, and it’s wonderful to see this reunion with Marsha, Richard and Quinn. I had the pleasure of meeting Quinn in 2012, and she’s a lovely, funny and warm person.

Everytime the theme song starts to play at the end of the movie, along with Paula's line of "I love you!", always brings tears to my eyes, everytime I watch the movie, it's crazy! :-)

Fun fact: That song, How About You is also previously featured in Tom and Jerry cartoon, The Lonesome Mouse where Mammy Two Shoes sang and humming this same song while Jerry distract it, and it's also used as a music score in Red Hot Riding Hood episode. BTW, Tom and Jerry and Tex Avery cartoons was also made by MGM at that time, the same studio who also produced The Goodbye Girl as well.

Saw "The Goodbye Girl" during its original theatrical run! One of my favorite memories of that summer! (Still remember one of my favorite exchanges between Richard Dreyfus' & Marsha Mason's characters, taking place in his bedroom (w/him sitting on his bed strumming his guitar): "Elliott, are you decent?" "You're naked!" "But I'm decent") So happy to see this!!! Thank you!!!

I was 18 years old living in San Francisco when the Good Bye Girl came out and I went to see it at least twice and fell in love with it! Since then I’ve always been such a big fan of all the wonderful actors. Quinn Cummings character Lucy reminded me so much of my younger sister who was still back home. Good Bye Girl still one of my favorite movies.
