The idea of texting someone “my dog is asking to play with your dog” is just delightful

It’s so interesting to watch he talk because you can see her sit for a minute and process your question, she’s just like a human it just takes her longer

Did your pup just ask you if his friend can come over and play?

It would be fun to watch two different animals using the buttons to talk with one another.

Wait what?!
So my dog is thinking about its dog friends even if we are at home?
That is so amazing ❤️

It would be amazing to see brain scans comparing Bunny’s brain to that of a non-“speaking” dog, now that she has developed all these new neural pathways.

There are so many things that we don't know our pets want or feel. They miss and want to see grandma. They want one of their friends to come over and play. They have a bad dream. They worry that Dad isn't going to come home when he's away on a business trip. Out of sight is not out of mind.

Throughout the history of pets, there has been no way for them to tell us these things, except in the case of some lucky fluke. But now with the buttons, they can tell us so much more than before.

Have you ever noticed that when you are trying really hard to learn something, like piano or coding or another language, or any new skill requiring practice, when you step away and then come back, even if it's overnight, sometimes you get this breakthrough burst of improved skill level? It's like your brain is working on it and practicing while you aren't paying attention, building the neuro pathways that allow for competence in a new thing. Maybe that's going on here. Just being able to put it down, step away, and then come back to it fresh seems to be important in the overall learning curve. Also combats boredom and staleness.

It's really interesting to observe the communication phases with Bunny. She seems to instantly understand what's being said to her, but this is followed by a complex phase of her thinking "how do I best translate my thoughts to button-language?"

This phase can take a while, but once she has decided on how to phrase her response, the actual pushing of the buttons is fast and mostly without hestiation.

Now follows the cutest phase... Once Bunny has finished her sentence, she looks intensely at the human with an expression of hope, expectation and excitement. "Did you understand what I just said?" You can really see the hope in her eyes.

When the next human sentence is said, Bunny listens with deep concentration and attention. It's quite different from standard human-to-dog chit chat because Bunny knows, that she will probably need to respond, so must make sure not to miss what's being said.

Although this whole process is quite demanding, it's very clear that Bunny really enjoys it when she feeels that she's being understood. Like when she asks for something and her wish gets acknowledged, she gets a really satisfied and happy expression.

I feel like Bunny's communicating at a higher level than before.

Maybe she was using “is” as like “do/does” to clarify that she’s saying she does want to play with friends now, rather than she “was” wanting to play with friends earlier?

Wouldn't it be cool if you could video link 2 dogs with buttons, they could talk to each other. Or cat too... call " BilliSpeaks ".. each with a web cam... ha ha... conference call. lol 😂

Bunny is a gal that knows what she wants. She is very particular about playing with a dog friend rather than a human, and about which dog friend she wants to play with. What a smart, confident pup!

I love the idea of the dog choosing a friend to play with

it's kinda amazing to find out that all this time dogs have been thinking of things that are outside of their immediate environment.
