I know this will probably never get seen, but from a circus performer, when you swing the whip, leave your arm straight out. Part of why it kept flying back at you at the end was that you were pulling it back. If you leave your arm straight out, the whip will crack, and lose momentum before it can come back and hit you.

Here's a tip for ya, maybe it will help. It's gonna be a bit more involved in its assembly, but should maybe work better. When connecting two pieces of wire together with the intent of retaining rigidity and flexibility combined, you should braid them together at the ends being connected prior to any sort of clamp or weld being applied, even both. The combination of all these things together should make for a nearly perfect and permanent connection for the whip to perform as expected.

It's gonna be a pain in the 4r53, but you already know that pain well enough by now.

Dude, DUDE, you have no idea how many hours I've spent looking for someone using a whip against ballistic gel or a ballistic dummy and you did both! Imagine the damage if you were more experienced with a whip or had someone more experienced swing that thing, like Adam Winrich....
