I’m not Korean, but I learned from someone who was that boiled/ steamed yellow potato is also a really good binder for kimchi if you don’t have the rice flour and water mixture.

This is my families favorite version of kimchi. This and the garlic shoots version. Now I’m tempted to make it bc homemade is always better than bought and we rarely get it.

Your recipe looks really good. I honestly prefer shrimp paste more to fish sauce. The only fish sauce I have used before for kimchi was three crab. I recently tried sand lance fish sauce in Kimchi recipes because of another YouTuber I watched when they were active but I don’t like it. 😭 I need to get shrimp paste and make this. 🤤

Radish is my favorite by far. Cabbage is still good but I ❤️ the radishes

Can I make this without the fish cake or fish sauce? I love the spicy radish flavour but I could never get behind the fish part.

this might be better for me because I used to like kimchi, but now I can't eat it because the texture freaks me out even though I like cabbage 😂 maybe I need a cube

I seriously love the fact that so many Asian foods are getting the spotlight they deserve! I just hope that these recipes don't get "watered down", or changed up from their delicious original versions. People should always honor every culture's recipes and methods, to keep them pure...whether it's Korean, Japanese, Italian, Southern American, French, Creole, etc. It's perfectly ok to make your own versions, but let's not forget the originals, please! 😊😊😊
