It's the first Tuesday of the month and Unreal Engine developers know what that means... free stuff! It's another Unreal Engine Marketplace giveaway, this time for April 2023. This month we have 5 "free for the month" assets, with no additions to the permanently free collection. These assets are yours to keep forever, so long as you "buy" them (for free) before the first Tuesday of May.

Kinda meh this month, but still great to be an Unreal Engine user, as always. Every month is better than what Unity or anyone else gives us :)

I’m always happy to watch your video before I claim the assets. Your videos are always very informative.

Oh yeah The procedural world generator one is really awesome! I subbed to the guys channel long ago, and watched him create this asset. Think he even has a tutorial on how to do it!

I hope it's possible to turn off the underwater wavy warping effect.. that's not how water looks. Other than that it looks good though.
I can't believe how many professionals get that wrong. Aquariums in e.g. Star Citizen and X:Rebirth both look like the glass has waves.
True, the light would bend and you could get something like that effect if you have different densities of water, e.g. hot/cold or high/low salt content, but it would diffuse rapidly.

Big Star Station LUMEN will be very useful for me since I'm building a space game.
Isometric World : Sky Temple has a few meshes I can use to create ancient ruins.
Underwater World / 70 Assets has some meshes I can use for my planetary and lunar seas.
Did Quixel Megascans release any Nanite foliage yet?

Previous month was better. Considering that in 5.2 we had a new system for procedural build worlds I don't see the value in the most expensive pack

The underwater world is very useful asset if you making underground base game that include flood, AI shooting, and searching for submarine escape pod. It would take Fiverr for help....

Do you know if something that was free will be free again? I want CCG toolkit that was free on 2019 but it's too

UE Business model is pure genius. Free monthly assets. Unity, Godot, etc -- They can't beat UE marketing niche. Yeap, somebody in UE pay attention to economic class:. "Small capital providers usually opt for a niche market with narrow demographics as a measure of increasing their financial gain margins."   .... Yeah. that's how UE make money. "Financial gain margins. " people will use Fiverr, selling games, people will buy new assets than free assets, stock value on company's valuations, etc. Unity, Blender, Godot, etc. want to copy free monthly asset business. But they have to find another way to beat it.

In April 2021, Epic completed another $1 billion round of funding to support the company's "long-term vision for the metaverse", putting the company's valuation at $28.7 billion.

Do people really make money selling assets on the unreal marketplace ? I fell like because unreal is more of a "complete engine" than unity is, there is less reason to buy asset. I like all the free stuffs you can get with unreal engine, but I feel for the developers.

if graphics get smudgy or rise resolution in real time, you know its made with unreal.
