SRS Light Fix and Reset

Do you still see your SRS light when you close your eyes to go to sleep?

I can help! I'm going to show you how to read the error codes in your SRS module, tackle the most common cause for an error and then reset the light.

There are many ways to "skin the cat" and these are the methods that I use. Any criticisms or alternate methods posted in the comments are welcome, just keep it civil.

THANK YOU. VERY EASY TO FOLLOW. JUST ONE BIT OF ADVICE. THE SEAT BELT COVERS HAVE PLASTIC PINS, PUSH THE PINS IN, THE COVER RELEASES EASILY.

This worked on my 2001 Honda Accord. I've been living with this for about 10 years. I knew how to reset the light but it would always come back after a while. Great video - thanks very much. I subscribed.

YOU, are a great presenter. Great presentation, guided me right to the problem and was able to clean and repair my system. All for the price of a paperclip and WD-40. Thank you for not sending me to the dealer YET.

Thanks so much for posting this video. After watching I diagnosed code 93 in two minutes with a paper clip, cleaned the switch and cleared the code. Probably saved me $160. Greatly appreciated and I subscribed. Thanks Ktec Garage!

I can't thank you enough for making this video. I've had the same thing on my son's 2000 Honda Accord and I kept worrying about how much it was going to cost but this did the trick. I subscribed.

The SRS light has been on about a week on my 2001 Honda Accord. Try to fix it over the weekend. Found your easy to understand and detailed video. I followed exactly the steps you provided and the light is gone now (the code is 9-3). Opening up the plastic case of the buckle took me a little longer than expected. Other than that, everything went smoothly. Thank you for your effort to help us!

I just followed your instructions and cleaned and lubricated the sensor and now, SRS light is gone! Thank you so much! Honda would not cover my sensor issue under the lifetime seat belt warranty, unfortunately, even though the sensor is part of the seat belt buckle assembly lol. You are correct as Honda does not "typically " cover the sensor issue - some people have gotten theirs covered and unfortunately I was not one of those. But, this literally took me 10 minutes and I cleared the code using my scanner, so thanks so much! Much faster than waiting at the dealership for hours!

Great video. Keep trying. I had my SRS light on my 2001 Honda Accord. I tried cleaning my seatbelts buckles but after opening buckle case the springs and parts went everywhere. Same for pass side.
I ended up buying two new Honda buckles at dealership for $250. Ouch.
Installed those and then tried the SRS method you shown to jump and the sequence to reset.
After trying paper clip and different copper diameter as a jumper, I couldn’t get my SRS light to change or turn off following your exact steps in video to reset. I kept trying and about to give up and finally the SRS light went away one time. Then removed one side of jumper for SRS light to come back on and then could not get it to go off again and then see it blink twice. So kept trying your sequence and holding wire in and finally got it to go through entire sequence and blink twice and disappear for good.
Long story short just keep trying and have the diameter of wire to fit in good. Hold one side of jumper tight with finger tip and other side you’ll have to remove for sequence.

Finally after years of annoying SRS light on dash it’s gone.

Thx for this video

IIt worked like a charm. I had a code 93. Problem solved, I already had all the tools i needed. It's amazing how a gunked up buckle can cause such an annoying problem

THANK YOY! For this video, I had that stupid SRS light for over two years, and thanks to you, I finally got rid of it. The first video shows you how to read the default code in a Honda. I even bought a blue obd2 scanner that didn't work (send back the stupid thing). Thank you again.

Thank you very much for taking the time to post this instructional video! I needed to sell the car and it's mandatory the SRS sensors are in proper working order for the safety certificate. The cost in Canada is around $450 for the part and the cost of labor to install. With your video I was able to correct the issue in about 15 minutes on a 2005 Honda Civic at no cost! Thanks again!

Worked exactly according to video....thanks so much. Saved me a trip to dealer and considerable expense if not covered by warranty.

if the switch is bad, does it mean, the seat belt light stays on?
