The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said it is eyeing to have a stronger military in the coming years
as part of its transportation roadmap.
In an interview aired over The Chiefs on One News channel, Brig. Gen. Edgardo Palma, chief of the Office of Strategic Studies and Strategy Management, said the AFP is currently “not at par” with world-class armed forces.

For those asking our opinion, MaxDefense PH believes that the HMAS Sirius should not be considered by the Philippine Navy, as it is too big for their needs. The PN would only need a far smaller replenishment vessel that will only be used within PH EEZ, or at best, for regional deployments only.
MaxDefense PH has been advocating of having replacements first before retiring legacy ships. The example here from Australia shows the Royal Australian Navy commissioning the HMAS Sirius' direct replacement, the HMAS Stalwart, before retiring the older ship.
