One thing I love about this update is how much it equalized the playing field in stats. So much so that there is no longer a clear "Best Build". I have seen about 15 different "this is the best MK8DX build now!" vidoes, and all of them have had different answers. Finally cured of the Mario Kart Wii disease.

Waluigi Wiggler is the best combo statistically speaking, but there was recently a patch decreasing invincibility frames for this combo specifically. It was too powerful! So that’s why I think that the one shown in this vid is probably better to use, unless you like getting hit by items

In the PAL versions of both the Wii U original and the Switch rerelease, the kart used in the setup is called the Buggybud.

You can also choose the paper glider, flower glider, and parachute. They all have the same stats.

it's not "the best", it's the meta. there's plenty of variations based on your play style. if you don't like to be actively drifting and a straighter driving experience helps you focus on item management, then wiggler will be better for you than buggy.
or if you don't wanna be another waluigi in the lobby, you can just pick whatever suits your style more.

Let's leave mario kart 8 and talk about Mario kart DS, I have playing it for about a week and I see the best kart is yoshi with the egg kart as it has one of the best handling and decent acceleration and speed 🥚🦕

There’s other combos that match or have similar stats tbh. What I notice, is that your acceleration stat is what’s best because you need to make the most out of your mini-turbos

My issue with bowser and DK when I played the game are that they fill up the more of the screen. Much better to use a heavy but a slimmer character.
