Why didn't you bring an XC MTB or an appropriately geared gravel bike? That might be a great bike for the Tour, but it's not a 20% grade hill climber. With how much GCN is about having the right gear for the job, surely there was a bike you could have promoted that was better for the task.

Do it on a cross-country mountain bike. As they are designed to climb hills like this.

You can get all the gears you want, you need to maintain a minimal speed or you fall over on a bike. So there is a very high minimal wattage you need to peddle, which is why so few people even complete it at all.

Put the right cassette on! A 40 or 42 will get you up

Doable on an mtb that has 12s 11-50t cogs 32t chainring. But it will stiil be a hell tough on your cardio.

18 spd cheap rigid mountain bike would be much better than that road bike. 21 spd rigid with a 14-34. Cost no object: 40-30-20 crank. 10-51 spd cassette.

It does not matter what bike u are on as long as you have the gear ratios required to get over it. What gears are you using ? Obviously not suited for this climb
