I stopped reminiscing about yt rewinds once i came to the realization that skibidi toilet would be in them

James' words at the end were true, YouTube became a corporate business like Hollywood and would only promote what would give profit, rather than promoting creativity like it originally did when it was still a community of ideas.

Also, James IRL is rocking the mustache+stubble. Even his animations and humour are so comforting to watch.

Closest I felt to community for youtube recently was seeing people react to Matpat retiring.

Here in Brazil, rewind was never such a big thing because instead we had Retrospectiva animada (Animated retrospective from Castanhari) and retrospectiva do galo frito (Galo frito retrospective) both were all musical with whatever were most famous song of the year, and talked about EVERYTHING that happened in the year in a comedic way, politics, sports, famous people, everything that happened get into it, and they always had a end part where the pay tribute to people that passed away in the year.

I feel like we should get rewinds, but they should be community made. Like, every year each subdivision of the platform, like gaming, animation, food, challenges, etc, they should get together to make a rewind for the previous year. That way we can sort of get quality control, while still having the rewinds representing the community.

What youtube didn't understand when they took away youtube rewind was that we didn't simply hate yt rewind. We loved to hate it, and we did so together
