I Know How to Fix YouTube Rewind

Going back and watching old YouTube Rewinds is one of the things that makes me feel like YouTube is actually very old and has indeed changed a great deal. Like, a lot of my life feels like things are pretty similar year to year, but the vibe of those old rewinds is so completely different than the current reality of the social internet. It's too bad that we had to grow up a bit but...we had to grow up a bit.

But I think giving me MY YouTube Rewind (instead of trying to give everyone their own YouTube Rewind) would actually be really valuable, and I want it to happen.

Thats genius, it also even fits the name "YouTube Rewind". It really expands the scope of the Rewind to be personalized, which is needed in the mass size YouTube is now. Great idea.

As someone who uses YouTube Premium and YouTube Music, they already do a recap for your music just like Spotify does. We all know YouTube tracks this information, so why not make it a thing. Absolutely incredible idea.

This is actually a genius idea, and I can't believe they haven't done this yet lol. I really hope someone in YT takes this to heart bc I'd love a recap of what/who I watched over the year.

I absolutely love this idea, and I also love that it’s coming from Hank because I think that might give it a better push to be adopted by the company because Vlogbrothers has got to have 1.) viewership from people inside at YouTube, and 2.) more pull than even a collective of non-large-creator viewers just voicing their ideas to YouTube

The thing is that Youtube already does something like this for THEIR music app, which is directly connected to a users actual youtube account (as in, a music video you that you like on the website will result in the song being put in your liked playlist). I have no idea why they haven't done this yet, as it's clearly not out of their wheelhouse. It really is a great idea

Something like this would be so cool! I know YouTube already has their own version of Spotify Wrapped on YT Music (it's called the [Year] Recap), so it seems like they should be able to take the principles of that and transfer them to the YT main site. I hope they take this suggestion!

I love Spotify wrapped but I wish they didn't put it out until January so that it could be a whole year instead of 10.5 months

When Spotify wrapped was released this year, the exact same thought crossed my mind! How come YouTube, a platform I spend so much time watching so many creators I feel a strong connection with, don’t have this?! And then I remembered they used to have Rewind… but a personalized Rewind is a great idea and I see no reason not to do it. Make it happen! 🎉

Spotify wrapped is literally one of the best parts of the christmas season, and it's a great idea for YouTube to do the same thing as long as they don't tell me how many minutes I've spent on YouTube

Something small but potentially huge that's been floating around in my head since Rewind ended and I'm so glad you're the one bringing it up. Rewind was great for presenting how diverse the platform is but as it went on it set in that it was just an ad for YouTube, that they knew if it sucked *everyone* would react, and in 2018 it did so they killed it. Personalising it would almost entirely drive that sense of feeling like an ad away, that being said if it did come back they should probably still have some kind of overall section to please those that liked it for the global community aspect like me.
