I remember when Pikmin 3 was first coming out, people were theorizing that Character D’s presence in those beta designs meant that Louie might be playable again. But then Pikmin 3 came out, and nothing.

Something about character D that has always confused me is that in the one image we have of them alongside the others, they are in the order D A B C for some reason. This has always struck me as odd, and made it feel like D was always meant to be different in some way for some reason.

So Nintendo porting Pikmin 1 and 2 to the switch has gotten me more than just hooked to the series I’m a huge fan already, I’m hoping to get three and four soon and continue to play them in order

For those that keep on saying that the tall one is referencing Britanny, the tall one does not. The oval head is way too thin to be actually Britanny's head type. Granted the pear head does not look completely like Brittany's head type but the square head also does not fit the president anyways either. Also if anyone has seen Charlie and Brittany side by side in Pikmin 3 Charlie is relatively taller than Brittany. However, in Pikmin 4 Nelle is taller than Doberman who has Charlie's same body type. I believe why they went with D's body type for Nelle because it is the closest one that has the triangle nose to mimic Brittany's nose. Alph's body type also has a triangle nose but it doesn't match Brittany's body type the best so they went D. No idea why they did not bother with making a pointy nose for the 2nd body type but that is Brittany's body type.
