I love the small clone. I use to have one years ago. Man I forgot how beautiful that analog pedal sounds.

The sound you hear on Nevermind album is not just this pedal. "Unfortunately", Andy Wallce, the mix & master engineer who mixed the record as we all know and love, used Yamaha SPX90 rack effect unit in post production. Famous preset 15 "Symphonic" is Chrorus/flange based stereo image widener he placed over the raw Small Clone in Come as you are intro. You can hear SPX90 on Lithium, Territorial Pissing as well + on Krist´s bass all over the record.

The rate is much faster like almost full I've compared it many times and have both small clone and poly chorus pedals

Why is it so hard to get the Come As You Are tone if the pedal only has one knob?

I have the bass clone, can I achieve a similar tone with it?

Not close enough unless doing these 3 mods
1. Replace C17 with 100pF Silver Mica or Ceramic Type Capacitor
2. Replace R21 with 6.8k Resistor
3. Replace C19 with 2.2μF Tantalum Capacitor

Depth down, rate to 3-4 o'clock :) thats what he normaly used to have it live

All you need is the Marshall amp, and it's on there already that's what he used anyway
