Limp Bizkit is the band everyone loves to hate! Why did Fred Durst and Limp Bizkit get so much hate, and how did it help Limp Bizkit? Was Woodstock 99 Limp Bizkit's fault? What about the Slipknot and Eminem beefs?

The fact that Limp Bizkit succeeded is proof that everyone pretended to hate them just to be "cool, " while they were rocking out to them in the closet.

In another universe, Fred was a top tier pro wrestling personality.

Limp Bizkit is just a good time. Sometimes all you need is a song about nothing or irrelevant stuff. Not everything needs to be deep. Some stuff is just dumb party fun

Y2K, the era when rock and metal had no problem comingling with pop culture to elevate its relevance!

Being a white boy growing up in the bad parts of Jacksonville, and being a huge Korn fan, I instantly loved Limp Bizkit and still do. Also, my first cousin Scooter (Ronald) is the lead singer of Cold, which were Fred's first band he helped get going. I met him once as a kid while spending the night at my uncle's house and they would jam out in the garage, I would sneak out of my room and sit by the inside garage door and just listen to them...I remember the weird smells coming from under the door (it was weed lol), and I remember Fred opening the door and me being scared of getting in trouble, but he just ruffled my hair and said something to me like "better get to bed before you get caught" and went to the restroom, while I ran back to my room. The next day, I was wearing a hat and I remember him taking it off and putting back on backwards and he told me "that's how you wear a hat dude". I still wear my hats backwards to this day lol

The best/worst part of the Woodstock 99 documentary on Netflix is when the promoters pleaded with limp bizkit to calm the crowd down. They say “alright” then proceeded to go into “break stuff”.

I met Fred Durst in the early 2000s. He was one of the nicest, coolest “famous person” I’ve ever met. This was peak LB phase, and he was still chill and down to earth.

I still enjoy them unironically. Been a fan ever since I watched/heard their cover of “Faith” as a teenager in the late ‘90’s.

12:48 that guy dancing on that plank of wood is my dad and him, and his friends were actually the ones that had the idea of bringing those big planks of wood specifically to do that when I found that out for the first time, I Felt the most Pride I ever have.

I grew up with Limp Bizkit, Korn and Slipknot...and not just them. System of a down, Linkin Park and others also making a debut. It was a great and exciting time. Kids meeting up in parks and at houseparties, playing all the music load, starting to form own local bands. Glad I was around for it, before rock "died". It´s totally dead right now and has been for a while.

Limp Bizkit was one of my favorite bands growing up and they still hold a special place in my heart to this day.

Fred actually is doing good these days. Makes movies, works with rappers and rock stars alike. I enjoy their older music and that one song with snoop dogg, 'red light, green light'. Limp bizcut isn't all bad, free is kinda over zealous over confident guy, but the group did make some bangers and I stand by that shit.

A person can dislike limp, but it's physically impossible not to bop to them

I'm not super into LB myself, but I will defend 'Three Dollar Bill, Yall' until my dying day. I still absolutely LOVE that album.

Fred Durst is one of the swaggiest dudes of all-time. Some of Limp’s lyrics were a little cheesy but their songs are fun to listen to and that’s what matters most. Great band. Nookie and My Way slap.

Being a massive Korn fan, I heard Jonathan Davis talk about LB so I bought their album right when it released and been a fan since. I've seen Limp Bizkit live more than any other band I'm a fan of, around 15 times. I met Fred just walking through the crowd at a show called Localbazooka put on by WAAF in Boston. It was '97 so no one really knew who he was yet. I wanted his autograph but the only thing I had on me was a dollar bill. He was real cool and seemed really excited that I wanted his autograph. He signed the bill and wrote 3's over all the 1's. I also was at the Ozzfest show in Mansfield when Lynn Strait from Snot came up out of the toilet butt naked. Good times!

I’m almost 41yo and was a massive Limp Bizkit fan in high school, I even saved up and bought myself my first 7 string guitar for my 17th birthday (it was a Schecter 7 string and cost just over $800 from Long and McQuade) just so I could play along with their first 2 albums. I’ve seen them live 8 times, the first time was in Toronto when their openers were SOAD and Method Man/Redman. That was my first introduction to SOAD and I bought their first album the next day immediately becoming a massive fan of them as well… I still listen to Limp Bizkit’s first 3 albums fairly often and it always gives me massive amounts of nostalgia… Limp Bizkit still kicks ass and Fred Durst is still the man 🤘🍻
