Holy Stone HS175G EIS Drone Flight Test Review

Pros
- Small folding drone with carrying case for maximum portability.
- Weighs only 249 grams with battery. Does not require registration or remote ID (RID) in most countries.
- Brushless motors for durability.
- 7.7V 2100mah Li-ion battery provides up to 30 minutes of flight time.
- GPS provides auto hover, and automatic return to home and landing on command, loss of signal, and low battery.
- Optical flow system for indoor stabilized flight.
- Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) provides electronically stabilized video without the need for a multi axis stabilized gimbal. This provides weight savings, along with improved flight time as the battery does not need to power a gimbal.
- Video resolution 1440p (2560 x 1440p) at 30 fps. Takes still photos at 4k (3840 x 2160) resolution.
- High resolution video and photos are recorded to an onboard TF memory card.
- Flight controller has been upgraded to provide extended control and FPV ranges of up to 1 km. But remember that many countries do not allow you to fly a drone at such ranges. In reality, this feature is meant to provide for strong control and FPV signals in areas of high clutter or interference.

Cons
- The drone only has electronic image stabilization, and does not have mechanical leveling of the camera (as with a multi axis stabilized gimbal). If flown on a windy day, the video may be tilted as the drone tilts to fight the wind. Unfortunately, EIS alone is unable to correct this tilt.

I've been watching for years. I don't always comment, but I always give a thumbs up. Great as always. Thank you, Sir.

You do the best drone reviews, you really know what your talking about and can explain it in a way that is easy to understand. Being new to drones I always learn something from your videos.

I always love the "How do you like my shirt?" part. They're always cool. Very interesting video.

Hello. I like this one very much. Maybe if I don't ruin the S188, I'll think about stepping up to this one. 😃 Again, your instructions are so clear to me. Thank you so very much. You make me laugh too 😂. Happy holidays Quadcopter 101🤶🏾

Inspired me to get out my 2017 DJI Spark, but the batteries no longer work! $250.00 for 2 batteries!! This drone is currently less than $200.00, Fly More!, with 2 batteries. Yeah, EIS vs Spark Gimbal, but just about the same fun. Thanks for the video.

Fairy rings can range from a few inches to over 200 feet in diameter. They typically feature a ring of darker green grass or dead patches surrounded by healthy grass. In moist conditions, mushrooms may appear along the outer edge of the ring

Hola fellow quad nerd. I know i message you here time to time and typically it has nothing to do with the Drone you are testing but typically past drones you have tested. I like messaging on newer videos since it helps the algorithm. Anyways Black Friday and Cyber Monday coming up, maybe you can make a video on it, but any good deals you are maybe looking forward to that someone like me should jump in on? I am still iffy on the Neo as I already have an Avata 1 and 2 but still thinks the Neo would be fun for indoors. But if there are some cool websites or deals that are upcoming that you suggest I would love to be privvy on as well.

The circles in the grass is where they set the poison for the Cicada Bugs. They have been tearing up baseball fields all across the country

Hi quadcopter 101! I suggest reviewing the FX9680. I had it for 2 weeks and flied it twice. I found some problems but i think it is pretty easy to fly!
Thanks!
Matt

Glad you're doing well, the weather in Texas has not been conducive to my new hobby of flying drones either, though I'm sure it's been a lot more harsh in Pennsylvania. I had seen your review of the zll sg 907 Max and I was wanting one but I ended up getting a DJI mavic mini for a gimbal camera though I like the low light video of the fimi mini 3 right now it's above my budget at the current time. I am curious if you kept the 907 Max as you seemed to like it a lot.

You should review the Deerc D65 Quadcopter. Falls in the category with this drone and the Wefone WF40. It is actually cheaper than this drone, supposedly has the same range and wind resistance BUT has a 2 Axis gimbal along with EIS like the WF40. Ive had the WF40 and didint care for it, build quality was kindve meh. Prefer the Deerc D65, bigger drone and better wind resistance and controller is similar to the controller with this drone.

Deerc is technically a Holystone just a different division of the company. I believe Wefone is also part of Holystone. So in a way all 3 are Holystone drones.

I dont know if the HS175G offers anything more than the D65 other than slightly bigger battery size as far as I can see so maybe slightly more fly time. Ive seen on other reviews where the HS175G dosent allow you to set the RTH altitude while the D65 does. With the HS175G more expensive than the D65, im wondering if theres anything better about it to justify the extra cost? Cause otherwise the D65 offers a 2 axis gimbal and a RTH altitude setting.

Just curious. Been away for awhile and returned to catch up. I noticed that your testing hasn't been done in the isolated desert areas where you spent so much time in the past. Do you ever intend to return to that area or intend to stay local ? Thanks Paul ( sasdthoh )

When I am looking for info on a budget drone i prefer to find your review of it. There is one that is out of stock at banggood but supposedly coming in, the Icamera 4 also listed as HK i4 at $139 A three axis gimbal 1080 p cam. Do you know anything about that one, only reviews I've seen are foreign countries/ languages. I hope you're doing well.

My first drone was the 175D fun toy till it flew away in 5mph wind. Then I got the 720e crashed it a few times finally got fed up and got a DJI. Wish I would have saved my money on the first two and went strait to a real drone. If you just want to play in the park with the kids once in a great while sure it’s ok but, if you really want to fly upgrade from Holy Stone.

I just don't think you need to do the synchronizing so often in the video it's normally done at the start of every clip recorded not during the recording.
