San Martin Model: SN0087-G is a Seiko SLA025 Homage that you really need to check out. Time of filming I found it for $220USD and linked it above.

I just picked up GS sbgx265 absolutely love it! To see San Martin going the extra mile with Zaratsu polishing even if it's Sub par is incredible. I bought the green Longines conquest gmt San Martin homage and gave it to my Dad on his birthday he absolutely loved it. Nicely finished on the fly adjustment, great lume, NH34. I think I paid 220-240 usd. Just can't beat the value. I ordered this after watching your video for just over $170 usd. I don't even care about the lume. See how it feels and maybe in the future get the real deal. I think people take watches too seriously. Buy what you like... it's just a hobby. All the best to you and keep making great content!!

Everyone is always making the “Skx killer” the “Tudor killer” the “Seiko killer” etc. No one ever makes them though. It’s so dry, it’s a San Martin. It’s a clone of a great watch, an homage.

I have this San Martin watch. It is an excellent timepiece. It looks so much better in person.

I totally didn’t expect bad lume from San Martin…

San Martin are starting to produce a lot of original designs as well. Their quality is incredible for the price and it’s constantly getting better.

In my opinion Seiko has an identity problem. It started out as a company making quality watches at affordable prices. They have been left in the dust by a number of brands, and just don't understand the watch buyers of today. You can get a sapphire crystal on a 40.00 watch all day long but, the grossly outdated Hardlex just hasn't cut it since the 90s. Replacing an iconic dive watch with a watch you can't even dive with. I won't even go in to the 1 percenter Grand Seiko no one can afford. I have worn Seiko since 1972, and love em, but, they are three decades behind what today's consumer want in an affordable, quality watch. Thanks.

Good review buddy. Been looking at this model for a while and after watching your review i'm going to grab it. The on the fly clasp was all the incentive i needed... Cheers...

Just got mine and it's gorgeous. The polishing matches my titanium Citizen that has zaratsu polishing.

Strange on the lume, usually SM kills it. Maybe the coloring they used diminishes it.

Watching this video while wearing this exact San Martin. Absolutely incredible watch, except for the bracelet which neither suits the design nor fills in the lugs completely. Sizing is also tough without half links

It’s not game over for Seiko. Years from now Seiko will still be releasing watches that many consider overpriced but will still buy them. Their crowns for the Prospex line will still be unsigned, alignment hit or miss, but people will still buy them. Movement accuracy will still be in question but they will be around long after all of us are dead. Seiko, like Rolex, don’t care what customers think or want. Their products will always sell and they know it. That’s such a boss freaking move I can’t help but respect it 💯

The watch itself seems fine enough, but I think pales in comparison to their recent Longines HC GMT-alike watch. What I do think could be really interesting here is using this case as a modding platform. Obviously you'd have to pull the crystal and bezel off to do it, but it could look really interesting with something like an SPB105 dial in there.

Greatly appreciate your refined attention to detail and beautiful footage! I only know a handful of Chinese brands - Seagull, San Martin, Baltany, Merkur, Pagani. Any opinion on which is the best Chinese watchmaker?

This model has been available for a while, it wouldn't take much to perfect it from SM. They are clearly capable!
Seiko marine master fan here, have the sbdx012, the sla045 and sla047... I can't deny that SM knows how to make watches well at prices that i can't understand... So either Seiko is overpriced or whats the catch here ?!

I am also liking your reviews, and appreciate your efforts and honesty.

Haha, Seiko har some great history! Nearly destroyed the Swiss watch market… so Seiko is a pretty Badass brand. If i want great lume, cool designs, reliable movements, heritage, then i choose Seiko. If it has missalignment, i fix it. If it has hardlex, ill change it if so👌🏼

It looks like a watch 99.9% of people won't recognize unless they notice the San Martin name.

Waaaiiitttt, did i just see a nh35 movement running at 0spd . Wow! If only Seiko regulated their movements, atleast in their high end SLA offerings with the 8L35 movement, it would crush all the competition in that price range, cuz all i see is people criticising seiko SLA offerings saying an unregulated movement at that price is unacceptable .

The older version of this san martin watch, the SN086G has insane lume. It isn't a monobloc case but I see that as a positive.
